Nearly impossible to take off!!!!

The most important thing to know about this is it nearly impossible to get it off. It was a bit difficult to put on, but anyone who’s used a compression sock or stocking can get it on. I wanted to wear it for just a few hours to test it out and also as they suggest not to wear long for the first time. For the first few minutes just sitting and no exertion no moving it did seem to make my Achilles tendinitis feel better, but then walking it seemed to make it feel worse and worse, so I wanted it off, but the worst thing about this is that it was nearly impossible to get off! I really thought I was gonna have to wear it for the rest of my life. The brace in the back is rigid and you just can’t slip it down past your heel without causing yourself a great deal of pain trying to get it over that heel and Achilles tendon. I’m afraid to put it back on and I won’t put it back on. My orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon suggested I try this. I have severe Achilles tendinitis have been suffering for about two years and I’m just trying to put off the surgery for another six months until a time or convenient for me. So I’m not looking for a cure just something to help a bit. It didn’t help at all and actually I’m afraid to put it back on again due to the great deal of pressure and stress and trying to get it off. Quality but comfort is lacking.

While I believe it is a good product. It’s well made. It is very rigid. Comes with a silky material sleeve to help put it on. But I had to have help getting it off. Could not get off on my own. Ordered the size according to the size chart on site. Also my ankle and foot would swell so could not wear for extended periods of time. Quality is great. Comfort not so much. Having a bone spur on my heel, this brace does decrease the pain while walking. My only problem is that I have a difficult time taking it off by myself. Going on is fine, but off is a bit painful.

The best Achilles brace for running

I had the earlier version of achillotrain, prescribed by my podiatrist, which I used for a few years. Eventually it seemed it was probably stretching out and I should get a new one. The new model has improved gel padding, and is taller. It also keeps the optional heel lift separate, instead of in a pocket (where it was difficult to insert), so it’s easier to switch between using the lift and not. I have a Haglund’s deformity which causes Achilles tendinosis, and this brace allows me to continue running. Its easy to get on and off, and keeps my Achilles tendon in place and improves circulation in the area. ... show more

Good support bought second set.

Been having some Achilles pain after golf and from standing at the desk all day. There’s definitely significant reduction in pain when I wear these during round of golf for me. I use one for each leg whenever I play now. Just bought second set so I have some backups. If you are struggling with Achilles pain I would recommend st least trying these. ... show more

Get what you pay for

My doctor strongly recommended this and I’ll tell you, it works. Expensive, but worth every penny. Getting it on is fairly easy, but getting it off can be a struggle. The compression material with sewn in gel things really is worth it.
