Can't give this USB-C Multiport AV Adapter less than 5 stars. Had a Samsung Galaxy S8 that finally bit the dust when I dropped it for the umpteenth time (that phone was seriously durable). The display no longer worked correctly and the screen was completely unresponsive to touch. Thought I might be able to install a new screen, but found out the pin connector was broken, too. I was planning to replace the phone in the future anyway; however, was not prepared for the sudden damage and hadn't backed up anything for some time. Enter in this little lifesaver. I connected the multiport AV adapter to my phone, then connected the device to my TV via HDMI cable, and finally plugged in a USB adapter for a wireless mouse. I was able to view the phone's screen on the TV with no issues, while using the mouse to simulate tapping and swiping. Thanks to this device, I backed up everything on the old phone and used Wi-Fi to migrate all of my data to my new phone. I do want to mention that using this with my (old) phone drained the battery very quickly. Also, I did try connecting to my laptop; however, the laptop never detected the Galaxy S8 was connected to it when plugged in via the device. I didn't delve into troubleshooting this too much since I didn't really need a phone-to-PC connection via this device. Overall, it is a great item that did exactly what I needed. Also, it's handy to have around and I've since used it to display videos, mobile games, and a presentation from my new phone to a TV.

Took some troubleshooting but i finally go this working after some user error. This did not work when i hooked it up to a monitor with hdmi to hdmi DP, it had to be HDMI to HDMI. Also i had to use the original switch charger from my other dock to make this work, i tried both a basic usbc cable to my laptop and my macbooks usbc plug neither worked.

Another review says that an OEM Nintendo Switch power adapter must be plugged into the USB-C port for this product to work with Nintendo Switch. I just wanted to clarify that other power adapters apparently work too, but they will likely need to be high-output. I used an Anker 65-watt adapter originally intended for use with my Steam Deck, which worked. Also note that the USB-A port is way too close to the HDMI port. If I want to plug in my 8bitdo wireless controller adapter at the same time as the HDMI cable (and you kinda have to have the HDMI cable), I have to use a USB-A cable extender. And like so many others have said, it feels cheaply made. Can't expect otherwise at this price though. Other than that, works as advertised!

I was happy with this when it first arrived, for the price it seemed like a great value. I got this to replace the Apple adapter because the Apple adapter didn’t charge our iPad while using HDMI. We use this primarily in our vehicle to allow our young children to watch movies on the rear seat entertainment screens from the iPad so we can control it from the front. Unfortunately we experience audio issues when using this adapter, after a few minutes the audio starts to crackle and sounds very bad, making the use of this adapter impractical switching only the adapter to the Apple one and using all the same cords gives a perfect streaming experience, so I believe the issue is with this product. Unfortunately I didn’t keep the packaging and am unable to return this even though it’s only a few weeks old and doesn’t work properly. Be sure to test it thoroughly before discarding the packaging if you buy it. Pros: Inexpensive, charging through sub-c while streaming with HDMI, cords fit tightly and don’t feel like they will come out by mistake, small size is convenient for travel. Cons: When using from iPad to HDMI in our vehicles entertainment setup the audio works fine for a few minutes then begins to crackle and sounds terrible.
