The Sylsmart Backpack Sprayer is already making my life easier. This backpack has made a dramatic reduction in the time it is taking me to spray pre-emergent herbicide on my acre+ of wooded yard. I have tossed my old one-gallon manual pump sprayer in the trash, and now I never want to use one like that again! Features that I like the most: - Peace and quiet - the pump motor in the Syslmart sprayer is so quiet that I can enjoy the sounds of the birds and critters in our yard, rather than wearing headphones to avoid irritating equipment noises. - Comfort! The backpack straps are padded and comfortable, which makes a big differerence when wearing 30+ pounds of weed-killer on my back! - More comfort! A spongy, slightly-firm, padded backplate keeps the bones in my back from aching when I am hiking about my hilly yard with a full tank. - It works with the "dumb" battery packs from a variety of other battery powered yard equipment that I already have on hand, so if I forget to charge the battery that was included with the Sylsmart sprayer, no worries! - Middle of the road pricing - sprayers of this style tend to be priced anywhere from $80 to $300, depending on their exact configurations. This backpack offers a lot of bang for the buck, especially for being on the low end of the price range, for sprayers of this type. - Capacity: four gallons is the most weight that I would ever want to carry on my old back. This is a big backpack, while not being too bulky or unwieldy, and I do not struggle ballancing when wearing it. - The unit is made of lightweight plastics, and it does not add a lot of unneeded weight to my carried load. I’ve been wanting an electric sprayer for the garden… I felt I was wasting fertilizer by using watering cans, plus it was ridiculous having to refill them over and over. This backpack sprayer seemed perfect to comfortably dose my garden as I have a trick back that doesn’t like me holding heavy things on one side. The backpack comes ready assembled with a number of tips for different spraying types. The battery is a bit weird looking with a gray plastic covering, but the sprayer itself is good looking with a classy looking control knob. The back was surprisingly comfortable with a bit of squishiness at the bottom, although one area was a tiny bit crinkled as though it got knocked before boxing. I’ll have to report back on battery life and effectiveness as it has been too cold to use. I will say that I’ll find an area to place it for filling so I don’t have to bend to put it on when full… I’m sure it will be quite heavy at that point and do not want to hurt my back.
