Plastic, clear, dishwasher safe, was ordered for dried raisins, dates, figs, tiny marshmallows and cranberries but I dislike the small pour spout because the berries "stick" to the opening and and I hate the spout covers as they are separate pop on style and I have to use arthritic fingers to push down and turn and shift off. I am going to switch these out for the kind with a screw on lid for semi-moist food. THESE will get used for pouring very dry mixed nuts and dried seeds. I love these containers so much, that this is my third time purchasing them. I bought them for cereal for my 7 year old twins. They love making their own cereal, but I buy the big boxes or the big bags, so it's hard for them to make their own. I found these containers and they are perfect for them. The only issue I have, that I forgot about because I loved the containers so much, was that they are hard to pull apart. They came packaged one inside the other and they are so hard to get apart, I usually have to get my husband to do it.     • Impossible to separate containers, lids are very difficult to get off once fastened.

I don't often leave reviews but save your money on these. It was impossible to separate the containers, they seems jammed together. Finally got on off. Attached snap on lid but took a lot of work to get it back off.
