Upon receiving it, I liked that it was heavy and sturdy. The biggest flaw for me is that it does not have a handle to pull the door open, and considering the door is heavy, it takes some skill to grip the lock mechanism with both hands so that the door opens. Unfortunately one of the door hinges broke after about 30 days, not sure if I just got a bad unit, but I almost was not able to open the door to get my things out. This is an excellent and convenient safe to keep out children, household help, nosy plumbers and any other curiosity seeker you don't want looking at or playing with your property. For this price and construction it will not keep out a burglar with any reasonable skill set for more than one minute. Solid, heavy, well built. I'm very impressed with this unit. Bolt holes on back and bottom but none on sides. Two different types of bolts with washers included: Cement and Wood, 4 each, very nice. Batteries included, very nice. Programmable keypad combo allows up to 8 digits to be used, very nice. They also provide 2 back up tubular keys, very nice. NOT fireproof. Had another Barska that was only finger print. Had it for years but stopped reading my thumb print. Purchased this on bc it has code. Works great

    • Holds a 17" laptop
I purchased this safe primarily to help secure a 17" laptop while on road trips. I bolted it to the floor of the vehicle after drilling a couple of holes in the bottom of the safe for proper mounting. Then, with a little foam to cover the mounting bolt heads inside the safe, my computer is secured inside. There's easily enough room for a second laptop and a few odds and ends. While not the most secure safe in the world, it's enough to stop most quick "smash and grab" type thefts. ... show more
