If you like being underneath a lot of covers, regardless of whatever temperature you want, this may be nice for you. I was a little skeptical, but I absolutely adore my weighted blanket now. It is true that the glass beads don't insulate like regular blankets do, so in the summer time I just have it on top of a regular flat sheet, and I stay cool. In the winter I stack flat sheet -> weighted blanket -> comforter, and I stay warm. I can be super comfortable any time of year. Also recognize that it is filled with glass beads, and it a little fragile. No matter how it's made, it's still full of 17 pounds of glass balls, so be careful with it. I never lift mine by the edge, I always try to support a large portion of it from underneath. I'm also not rough with it, and would be cautious giving it to a kid. Every now and then I can find a tiny glass bead here or there. It's rare, and they don't bother me at all. I simply notice one rarely, then toss it in the garbage. Never bothers me, and it's really rare if you're just gentle with it. I would pay attention to sizing guidelines available online. For me personally, 17 pounds is perfect. I'm 160 pounds, and it's definitely the Goldilocks weight for me. I'm also 6'2" and it's long enough for me, but it's not quite as big as a typical full size flat sheet. I have not tried to clean it yet. I always have the flat sheet between the blanket and myself, so I never make direct contact with it. Again remember that it is filled with a lot of heavy glass beads, so be careful. I plan to occasionally hand wash it, very gently, in a bath tub, then lay it out flat to dry with lots of airflow. I want to ensure that the wet beads never let gravity pull them against the stitching all at once (don't hold it vertical). But I will spend this effort on this blanket because it's freaking awesome, I really like this blanket a lot. If you're still reading this, but this blanket. You're clearly interested, you've read this far, so you know how to take care of it, and it's really good, so buy it.

This is an absolutely incredible concept. I have (diagnosed) anxiety disorders and I never reach deep sleep as a result. If you know, you know - it’s rough. Chat GPT to the rescue: it recommended a weighted blanket. So I purchased this one. I fall asleep almost immediately with this thing on, even when I’ve been awake for over an hour trying. I put this on and I’m out. And I stayed asleep for the whole night the first couple of times I used it. Naps were the same. I used to wake up in pain and I had the most emotionally charged dreams (I did this at night as well). I would end up saying in bed longer, but I would still wake up in pain and I didn’t feel anymore rested, plus I’d have more bad dreams. But with this blanket, all of that stopped. I just sleep. I usually wake up in the same position I fell asleep in. My nervous system is so calm. (Again, if you know you know.) The only thing I have to say that is not in favor of this particular blanket is that it retains heat like it’s its job. So I started waking up again because I was so hot and sweaty. So I’m searching for another, more breathable option. But this worked so well for me that I got it for my autistic and anxious son and my other son who struggled with sleepless nights as well as bad dreams. Then my youngest wanted one just to feel safe. And he does. They all love their weighted blankets and I love that they are getting more restful sleep. I just wish this didn’t retain heat so terribly. Otherwise it would be perfect. I have to say, however, that you must choose a blanket according to your child’s size. My oldest was able to use this brand because they offer a 7lb option, but I had to go with another brand for my younger two because they needed 3lbs. Make sure you are getting the proper weight for a child, otherwise they can become tangled or it can be too heavy which will not help them. About 10% of their body weight, and I even went on the lighter side for them. Anyway, my son does not complain about being hot, so this may just be a me problem. I do recommend giving this a try if you’re considering weight. Just be aware that it may make you pretty hot.

I have the worst night time anxiety. My SIL recommended this blanket. I can’t live without it. I even give us precious suitcase space to travel with it. It actually very easy to wash and dry.

UPDATE: THIS WEIGHTED BLANKET WASHED BEAUTIFULLY & EVERYTHING STAYED WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO AFA THE GLASS BEADS!! STILL 5-STARS ALL THE WAY!! My son had been wanting to try a fairly heavy 18-25 lb) weighted blanket. So, the hunt was on. I had two primary concerns: 1). The outer material, it’s softness & how it felt against his skin (both of my kids are very tactile!). 2). The inner weighted material was also a consideration as I preferred glass beads on the inside and smaller sectioned pockets where they are placed. This makes for an even distribution of the beads, therefore: the weight. ••THIS BLANKET FIT MY CRITERIA PLUS, IT HAD GREAT REVIEWS!! It looks very nice on his bed and has no off-putting smell. One small drawback; It’s very heavy so I must take it to a laundromat and use a 4-6 load washing machine just to launder it, strictly due to its weight, esp when it’s wet!! It gets heavy enough that it would likely go off balance or overload even the best non-commercial front / top loaders at home.
