The media could not be loaded. I’m using for making sourdough breads. I love the rattan proofing baskets that leave the ridge design on the loaf. The plus is the covers that you can use over the top while rising or beneath. I also really like the stencils.

When I first got this kit with the wooden proof baskets I was rocking it, I was loving the olden day feel with the wood baskets, the fun extra utensils make life easier when working with sourdough or any dough for that matter, always appreciate extras of whisks, scorchers, and brushes. I am kind of over the wooden baskets, if your dough leaks or the burlap lining falls, your dough get everywhere so be very adimate that you get your lining nice and secure, there are even plastic elastic linings you can get to save you from the hassle, but I like that these baskets give your dough a nice airflow to proof. But cannot deny how great this kit is, this would be great as a gift, wedding gift, mothersday, or anyone looking to get into the sourdough game.

No complaints. At all. Seriously, this is a nice little set. The two baskets look to be well made. They come with liners, or you can flour the heck out of the wicker and get the cool pattern on your loaf. The extra gadgets that come with it are all pretty handy. I did a test loaf today and with a little bit of flour (and not an overly wet dough), the loaf dropped out with a little coaxing and retained it's shape / rings. Next time I'll probably try to use more flour in the basket, but it's good to have a baseline or near minimum.

The oval pan is for a 300g flour recipe, while the round one is for a 500g flour recipe. Both pans are easy to clean and the cloths are easily washed with just dish soap and water.

Maybe because the typical baking methods use a large round covered cooking pan or crock, but I prefer typical loaves. This has an elongated proofing basket, so it translates to using a standard loaf baking pan. Not to mention (or maybe I am mentioning), that the elongated proofing dough will slice very nicely when want to make sourdough bread sticks or other artisan treats. It comes with some other things I didn't have as well, and duplicates some I do have, but they are useful. New items are silicon sling to lift bread out of baking container, and a set of stencils to make specific designs if you're not handy enough with the razor blade. Plus, they include a large bread bag for finished loaves. The basic components include the round proofing basket in addition to the elongated oval, and the dough mixer that makes it easy to blend the dough before rising and folding. Other basics are the razor blade scorer to cut designs or venting edges in the dough to keep from over rising. They typical metal cutter dough separator, or making separate loaves, and a plastic one to work with the dough. The round brush in nice for cleaning out jars as a part of the making process. The oval loaf proofer was again my main reason, when I bake good sandwich bread loaves, (and I love sour dough), I have a wooden slatted slicer to make even sliced bread pieces. It won't fit the larger rounded loaves, but this will make a good fit. I can finally use the 55 plastic bread bags; I got some years back at the day-old bread store. Recommended.

Nice accessory assortment for the sourdough baking beginner. I got this for myself, but it would make a nice gift, too. I’ve found the sling especially helpful in removing the baked loaf from my cast iron skillet. Also like the proving basket and the ever-needed lame. It’s really nice to go into a bake with all the accessories you’re going to need.

I was really excited about this kit, but I probably should have ordered the rounds instead of the oblong. For one, it's comically small. That's on me, and I can make smaller loaves. But I won't be able to make any loaves without the covers, as I tried brushing them with the stiff brush in the kit and splinters were coming off. And staples also stick out of the bannetons. They just aren't as well made as others I have, so I'm keeping the cloth covers inside to proof. The stencils, when I pulled them out, cracked me up. They are cute, but I already have that exact set as they came with a frother I bought a few years ago—they're for coffee. LOL. They're made to put over coffee or cocoa and sprinkle cocoa powder over them to make a design. However, what a great way to repurpose them (not sure about putting coffee beans on my bread though). Love the rest of the accessories, though. The lame is very similar to one I already have. Slightly lesser in quality of the handle, but exact same blades. The brush, dough whisk, and scrapers are all great. Especially getting the metal scraper in there—seems good so far; it's a wood handle so don't leave it soaking! If you are pressed starting out and want an all-in-one, this could work. But probably get the rounds instead of the ovals. I think that would work better.
