I bought this so id be able to use my Airpod Pro Maxs with my desktop computer that isn't Bluetooth capable. It plugs in to a USB port for power, and I used the 3.5mm jack as the input. It also comes with an optical connection included in the box. There is a slight delay that is noticeable under certain circumstances, but its only about 100-150 ms. Depending on certain games [Clone Hero in particular] the delay becomes evident, but it's easy to correct. With most other games or videos the delay is negligible. I also couldn't hear any discernible sacrifice of the sound quality. The setup wasn't as straightforward as I'd anticipated, but it still only took about 5 minutes from start to finish. We adapted our 1960's Philco console AM-FM-33 1/3rpm stereo phono w/tape input to a BT receiver; a simple Plug/Play utilizing Monster BT T/R. I scrounged a 5v USB charger, a 3.5mm double ended male cord and a retired cell phone from ‘too good to throw away’ stash to complete installation. The Monster transmitter RCA L/R stereo outputs plugged directly into the existing Philco RCA tape (play back) inputs. Because we're using the retired cell phone to seamlessly transmit recordings and port internet audio via the Monster to the Philco sound system, our current phones aren't part of the system, eliminating a wireless range restriction. We set the console deck controls to ‘tape mode’, and the volume controls on the phone and console to maximum; the Monster has its own volume control we use to set playback volume. It's what old people do with ‘good stuff’ they've been saving up they know their kids don't want! Likely can't even give it to your grands; they can't read a handwritten note explaining how to hook it up. ... show more

I purchased a built-in surround sound sofa and wanted to connect it along with our Bose soundbar. This device was advertised on multiple sites as a solution to connect “multiple Bluetooth devices,” so we decided to give it a try. We followed the included booklet instructions and several online guides exactly as directed, but it simply does not work as advertised. Every single attempt to connect failed. The biggest issue—and the reason for this review—is what happens after the failed attempts. Once you try using this device, it completely interferes with your existing Bluetooth setup. Even after disconnecting it and deciding to just use the soundbar or sofa separately, we were forced to hard reboot all Bluetooth audio devices, go back into the TV settings, remove every paired device, and reprogram everything from scratch. This happened repeatedly and was beyond frustrating. Trying to fix one problem ended up creating several more. In my opinion, this device is absolutely not worth the time, effort, or money. Using this for PC gaming. Allows me to connect my Airpods easily. I like external units like this as their only job is transmitting audio (as opposed to a Bluetooth dongle which requires software and PC resources to transmit audio). PROs: Strong connection, low audio latency, easy volume control, multiple features (Receive, Transmit, Bypass Mode) CONs: Responsiveness of the buttons/modes is SLOW. I know I'm impatient but it takes a few seconds to switch between the different modes and unfortunately since I don't use Receive Mode that means a lot of waiting for it to catch up when trying to switch between Transmit and Bypass modes. Reconnecting my headphones can be hit or miss, sometimes requiring a power cycle to get them going (but once they're connected they stay connected well). We bought this unit to hook our TV up so the sound would play through our Moto media couch we just purchased. It did not have an RCA cord we needed but once I got that cord, it worked wonderfully. Sound is very clear but it does lag from the TV so we have to turn TV volume off when using speakers on the couch. Easy to set up and use. Didn’t read any instructions and my husband didn’t use them to hook up to TV either so can’t address that. Price was fine. ... show more

I've had one of these for a few years to convert TV optical output to Bluetooth because TV did not have Bluetooth, works great for headphones. Now my new TV has Bluetooth but only has a HDMI sound output, but no optical or phone jacks which can be connected to an Aura Cast transmitter so I can hear TV with my hearing aids. I'll be using this to change Bluetooth to an optical output that my Aura Cast transmitter can use and still use HDMI for my Soundbar that other family members can still listen to.
