I do like this set because the sizes are adequate for a small kitchen space. The boards were primed upon receipt but I continue to wax after every 2-3 uses. This is the reason for the 4 star rating because of the dryness. Have used sharp knives on them and they hold up unlike plastic type boards. No unusual smells either. Average weight for boards.
