  • Love it!
I was used to working on an Allegro2 at the pilates studio, but with shut downs interrupting my practice, I decided to purchase a reformer of my own. The Allegro2 was too big for my space (and a bit too expensive) so I started to look at other models. I was hesitant to order the Allegro because it doesn't seem to get as much love as other BB reformers and I just REALLY liked the Allegro2 and was worried a different model wouldn't measure up. However, after speaking to my Pilates instructor who informed me that the Allegro was her first reformer, I decided to make the purchase with the 14" legs and I cannot be more pleased! I don't know why this machine doesn't get much attention! The quality is exactly what you'd expect from a BB reformer-- best in class. It's a step up from their home reformer, the IQ, but not as expensive as the Allegro2 or Studio reformers (but make no mistake, this is definitely a professional piece of equipment). It was exactly what I was looking for and while I miss the ability to move the foot bar along the carriage like you can with an Allegro2, at least it doesn't get jammed when I'm trying to move it between positions. I am so happy I bought this reformer and have zero regrets! ... show more

  • The best reformer
This is my second allegro machine. I had sold my previous one when I moved into an apartment, otherwise I am sure it would still be in fabulous condition. Now that I live in a home, I really wanted another one. I was hesitant to buy it through Amazon, but the process was seamless and they gave me access to the shipper and the company. This is the best reformer for anyone who lives in a home and wants a low profile machine that will last forever. ... show more

  • Great choice!!
I purchased this reformer with legs, wheels, jumpboard, and box after a year of studio training and months of research. I could not be happier. The reformer was easy to assemble by myself. Shipped with packing in all the right places to prevent damage, and the team at balance body was awesome. They called quickly after purchase to confirm my order and a discrepancy on the wheel kit was quickly resolved by the professional customer service team. The reformer offers a quiet, smooth, glide during workouts and I'm extremely satisfied. I look forward to adding the tower in the near future. ... show more

  • Buy a Flexia or Frame - or anything else (total waste of money)
Given the ~$4k price (including tax, shipping, and legs), you'd assume that the reformer + legs would show up mostly assembled. You'd also assume that the build quality would be superior to Frame/Flexia. But, you'd be wrong on both counts. The frame itself is solid, and the springs/padding seems OK. But, assembling the reformer/legs was a maddening almost 4 hour process. Nothing is intuitive, tools are missing, and the instruction videos are not all that helpful. Even in the instruction videos, the pros struggle to peel the 3M sticky thing, struggle with the bolts in multiple steps, and had to incorporate outside tools to even put it together. The step-by-step paper instructions are equivalent to putting together a massive dresser or piece of furniture from Ikea -- or like trying to learn astrophysics. My 9-month pregnant wife had to step in multiple times to help, and the reformer itself had to be flipped over 4x across the span of almost 4 hours. If this was a $200 or $300 Amazon reformer, this is probably par for the course. But, not for almost $4k. Adding insult to injury, one of the legs came in damaged, and the unit is not entirely steady - but flipping it over and reassembling for the 5th time is not appetizing. Absolutely shocked by the unboxing process, overall quality, and high price point. I really regret this purchase - and am extremely unhappy. I should have gone with the Flexia - much cheaper, white glove assembly, and probably similar (or better) quality. ... show more

  • Horrible padding!
I am not new to the world of reformers. My former reformer was a Stott professional that I had for over 15 years. It was a delight to workout on. The padding was supple and very comfortable with zero complaints! It looked as new as the day it was delivered to me, after 15 years of use! Now, let's discuss the Balanced Body Allegro.... the very time I climbed into this machine and pushed away from the footbar I yelped in pain! The shoulder pads have no flexibility to them at all. It is like pushing against a raw piece of lumber. Whoever designed these pads clearly did not use them! I give Balance Body a loud BAD ON YOU for putting this design flaw out into the unsuspecting public. I paid over $3,000.00 for this machine and after reading all of the rave reviews about how awesome it is I felt confident in purchasing it. Yes, the glide is quiet and flawless but that doesn't really matter if the user is in so much pain due to the lack of padding on the shoulder pads and platform. My husband went to ACE hardware and bought me two sponges, can you believe that, yes sponges, then I taped them onto the front of the should rests so I could get in a workout. I can't even call them shoulder pads because there is no padding. This would a five star machine if they hadn't skimped on the padding areas. IF the president of BB is listening they NEED to spend a few dollars and improve the overall comfort of this machine. I challenge anyone working at BB to go ahead and use the machine and then report back. I guarantee they will admit to its discomfort. What a joke ! I even reached out to BB asking if they offered a padding option but they said no, they don't. DO NOT BUY THIS REFORMER- BECAUSE OF HOW UNCOMFORTABLE IT IS TO USE!!!! OR, if you do, then make sure to also buy some large sponges to attach just so you'll be able to workout on this machine. Today's quest is to find some kind of additional padding for the platform area on which you lay on. That portion of the machine also lacks any comfort. I wish I would have spent even more money to buy another STOTT professional reformer, which are SUPERIOR to this reformer. It is so maddening these manufactures cheap out and then pass an inferior product out to the public. I don't understand why I never saw any other reviews shouting out how uncomfortable this unit is. On the BB website I can understand that they wouldn't publish the negative reviews but I should have seen something here on Amazon forewarning me... what a bid bummer...... ... show more
