  • Sturdy and sleek
Style: Revolver X4s
I did a lot of research on tonneau covers for my 2021 Jeep Gladiator before purchasing this one. I kept coming back to the Bak X4s because of the security features, especially the rail long locking mechanism that secures both sides of the entire cover and not just the end at the tailgate. The install was a little tricky, but, at the end of the day it was 12 bolts in total. I have a spray in bed liner and needed to remove some of it to allow for a proper install. The cover is pretty much watertight at the bulkhead and sides, but the tailgate closure leaves a small gap above the tailgate itself. We've had a ton of rain over the last two weeks and only a little got in at the back end of the bed. Overall this cover looks great and functions very well! ... show more

  • Fitted easily and is a good fit for the Gladiator. Looks good, robust and secure.
Style: BAKFlip MX4
For some reason, the 1* review I gave the incorrect delivery at first, is overwriting the 4* review I gave the correct delivery. The first order, the incorrect items were delivered but that was resolved/fully refunded and the correct order received with only a few days delay in work. The correct cover fitted very well and looks good on my 2023 Gladiator and is worth the money. It appears robust, secure and versatile! Other reviewers have noted that the instructions are misleading. I consider myself pretty good with the tools but would describe these instructions as unclear and you really have to sit inside the bed of the truck before you start and read the instructions several times with the various parts in your hands to visualize how they go together, because in view that this kit is provisioned for several different model years of Gladiator with different fixing holes in the bed, there is a "Choice A" and a "Choice B" for the methods of attaching the side rails and you must choose the right method for your Glad. I agree with the comment about the lower forward screw/rubber thingy. It is really only an aid to location during assembly. That "wierd" expanding bolt has to be hammered through the top hole and EXPANDED and then the screw removed again before you can fit the side rail. If you don't do that, the forward end of the rails will not be anchored correctly. The comments that the rails don't sit level and droop down is correct AT FIRST. Once you attach the forward most panel with the large thumbwheels, that pulls everything level and as long as the rear TORX screws are well tightened, alignment is assured. On that note - WHY TORX SCREWS??? Why not a hex bolt with lock washer that I can get a small ratchet on? I found that lying on my back trying to engage those screws under the rim of the bed to be uncomfortable, fiddly and slower than needful. If you are likely to drive round much with the cover removed COMPLETELY, it would be possible to go to Home Depot and pick up 6 feet of Aluminum angle section, paint it to suit the bed color, drill and bolt the angle to the forward flat brackets across the bed to hold the side rails level that way but not many people would feel the need to go that far, I think! One small issue that prevented me giving the cover a 5* is that one of the parts for the strap tiedown was left out of the package but I had a suitable screw and anchor in my "left over parts from other projects" drawer in my garage and so only a few minutes delay was experienced in fitting the cover assembly to the vehicle. NEVER throw excess parts away! I find that these days, a lot of manufacturers will add an extra part of each kind to the package of parts to ensure that if one part count is miscounted low, it doesn't matter but this maker aims to provide the correct number but if one small item is left out, then you are short and dependent on your "left over parts" drawer. That's a manufacturers choice to save a few cents but risks reputation if they get it wrong!!!! Note that if you cant find a small screw in the tie down strap buckle bag, look inside the buckle and I found one was "hiding" in there and prized it out with a screwdriver. ... show more

  • Great product, poor instructions and hardware.
Style: Revolver X4s
The installation instructions and description of the hardware is greatly lacking as others have said. You would think that after years of the same complaints, they would fix this issue. Also there is so much hardware you do not need that until you figure it out or watch youtube you are kind of loss. After you have the hardware figured out it fairly easy provided you have the right tools that are not included. ... show more

  • Very well build and good quality.
Style: BAKFlip MX4
If it is your fist time assembling this item. Give yourself the patience and time. Also watch some videos on YouTube. Might need to buy some extra screws to replace some that come with item. Other than that I love it. Very well built. A little pricey but worth every cent.

  • BAKFLIP MX4 TS
Style: BAKFlip MX4 TS
I hesitate to write this review before resolution, however.. I bought the BAKFLIP MX4 TS Hardtop cover. Installation took a couple of hours in 90 degree sun and really wasn't too bad. Instructions were clear enough and went together well. It absolutely looks great. My 2024 Gladiator has a spray on liner in the bed, so I was expecting some issues with the front gasket based on reviews. The unit requires side rails for latching. The side rails will move side to side since they do not have a reinforced angle for stiffness. Just make sure not to slam cover as you are putting it down. Leaks. Yes. The side adapter rails and the cover do not have same elevation above the truck bed lip. As a result, there are holes that are taller than the gasket requiring doubling up the gasket in the front corners. The cover, front to back, is JUST long enough. In order to fit, I had to put the gasket on the very edge of the front lip in order to get it under the front rubber cover gasket while just barely covering the tailgate. So leaks occur on front and back of cover. RealTruck is sending a new front gasket and I am trying another bed gasket which is on order as well. My company uses the BAKFLIP G2 hard top on all company pickups. The ones that don't leak in front have the cover slid forward about 1/8 inch forward to get the front seal proper. This does leave leaks in the back, but the tailgate doesn't seal anyway so this drains out. I love the look, I can't wait to put a truck rack in the rail, and it is easy to flip up. I will make it work but for the price, I really would have liked another inch or two added to the cover to ensure sealing. ... show more
