This review is about installation on a 2025 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. I initially ordered a competitor’s cover, but it was missing parts, so I returned it and purchased the Real Truck cover. It was so much easier to install. My wife and I did the install and A) we remained married and B) got it on in a couple of hours. We are in our 70s so a younger, more nimble person could get it installed even easier. One small screw did not fit in its base, called RealTruck and they shipped replacements immediately. I was very impressed. The cover looks great and is near flush. The tail gate closes properly. I only have one minor issue and that is the right rear slam lock does not consistently line up. I simply pull down on the side rail, if a problem occurs, and it snaps tight. Strongly recommend this product. ... show more

DON’T BUY FOR A NISSAN FRONTIER First mistake I made was ordering a “used-very good” item. Arrived not just with the noted blemished packing but also damage to the actual item and missing installation parts. Clearly no one really quality controlled the prior-retuned item. Then ordered a new one. That was the second mistake. Per multiple videos, should been a quick and easy install. Install parts really don’t work well as far as making the product properly work on my Nissan Frontier. Took close to 3 hours rather than 30 mins and still not properly installed. Rails not properly seated so the cover will not latch. Additionally, poor quality install parts that now need replacement Went to an authorized dealer for install assistance. No luck. Won’t latch properly and definitely does not fit right. There are a lot of other covers out there; pick one of those. ... show more

    • Revolver X4s -- Great Design and Execution -- but some tips/tricks needed

I bought the Revolver X4s for my 2025 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab S 4x2 w/ 5 foot bed. It has a 3rd spray-on bedliner on the bed and tailgate and plastic rails protectors on the left and right sides (no plastic protector on the tailgate). Shipping was quick -- $19 for 2 day delivery but arrived in 1 day -- to Hawaii. Quality -- excellent. Workmanship, detail and parts were all provided and of highest quality. Functionality -- excellent. Cover locks securely. To release, a single wire pull is needed to unlock the cover. It is superior to most tri-fold designs that need 4 locks (2 for each section) to be manually loosened. Value -- good. Sale price of $200 off MSRP made it a decent value for a Made in USA product. Price is comparable to a quality tri-fold, but more expensive than a soft top ($300-$500) and cheaper than a Leer camper top ($4700). Instructions -- okay, but needed some tips/tricks. Tip 1: Installation is best done w/ a helper -- mainly to press down left and right guides while tightening. Trick 1: In lieu of a helper, use your chin to press down guide while you blindly tighten bolt. Tip 2: Frontier has about 3 deep holes under the rails on each side. Use these places to place clamp deeper. I also place one clamp at each end for a secure fit. Tip 3: When positioning the rails, you must make it flush to the tailgate when closed (not the front of the bed). This will leave a small 1" square gap near the front of the bed, which I plan to fix w/ some Flex Seal tape. I will overall rate it a 4.5 (rounded down to 4) because of the small gap and the need for tips/tricks. ... show more

Don't waste your time and money on other covers. Just pony up the money and buy the bakflip. It's far superior to any other made, from ease of installation to function, this one is hands down the best! Took me 20 min to install by myself. Looks great, fits great, and opens all the way to the cab.

This is my third roller Bak. I bought another one for my new 2025 Frontier. Disappointed In the fit and the clamp method is not well suited for this truck. With a little seal stripping my previous Frontiers were pretty much water proof. This one it won’t be possible. Quality is lower, length is too short, and watch for sharp edges. ... show more

Like other reviewers have pointed out, they have changed how they build this tonneau kit, and it has a serious issue now. As you can see in the picture, the rails now pull down and away from the tonneau latch mechanism as you tighten the provided clamps. We tried installing the clamps in the recommended position from the manufacturer, but this only made the rails pull downwards even more. We had to use a set of large channel lock pliers to bend the end of the rails back up, and even now, the only way to get the rear-most portion of the tonneau to latch is to let it fall and hit hard, or reach under and provide counter-pressure to the latch. I also have to have the tailgate dropped for either of the back latches to click into place. My theory is that the manufacturer only tested this new kit on a truck that didn't have the plastic trim pieces on the top sides of the bed. The instructions also mention a shim of some sort, but no such shims were provided in the kit I received. My truck is a 2025 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 with the convenience package, so it has the factory spray-in bed liner and plastic trim pieces on the top of the bed sides. I'd look at other models of tonneau cover if you have a 2022+ Frontier until the manufacturer addresses this major flaw with the current kit. ... show more

Item seems nice but did not fit my 2025 Frontier. After lots of effort trying to make it work, I took it to a preferred BAK installer. They could not make it fit either. I wish I had looked at the other reviews before I bought this item. Seems to be a problem making it work with the 2025 model.
