Description

The BAKFlip MX4 was the first matte-finished, hard folding cover to market, becoming America’s 1 Selling Hard Folding Cover in just a few years. Simply put, the MX4 just looks better than other covers. Its sleek no-profile appearance allows you to maintain the appearance of your truck, while enabling you to securely stow cargo in the bed. The MX4’s pioneering, textured matte- finish adds a premium look and feel while also protecting against UV damage, annoying finger print marks, and scratches. MX4 has everything you expect from a premium cover. The engineers at BAK Industries fine-tuned even the smallest elements of the cover, down to adding cab corner caps and rail-end cap, to extending a matte-finish throughout the cover’s side rails, clamps, and elevator bolts. The MX4’s integrated buckle system and automatic latching mechanism allows you to drive with the cover partially or fully opened without covering the 3rd brake light. For 100% bed access, simply unlock the cover from either side via its pull latches and fold the cover all the way up against the cab. From there, you can prop the cover in place by tightening two rods into the underside of the panel. For enhanced durability, the MX4 also features pre-molded, shock-absorbent bumpers on either side of the panel, protecting the folded panels from hitting the cover during turbulent driving. I bought this for my husband's 2016 Toyota Tundra Crew Max. He was able to install it himself, but it did take a couple of hours since he doesn't have experience with this. He did adjust it a couple of times to ensure it was weather proof. His track system and bed liner seemed to be the biggest issue with it taking time. Since it has been installed, he had loved it! It is excellent quality and does not leak! I was anxious about spending this amount off money, but I'm so glad I did! My husband said that it is heavy duty, but the weight is manageable. The supplied bolt/washer issue for lowering the factory rails caused a clearance with the truck bed - reversed the bolt/washer and no problems.

Overall, I really like the cover. It serves my needs for keeping the bed clean and concealing whats in it. When you need your bed open, rolling the cover up works well only taking up around 12 inches near the cab when rolled up. If you are looking for something that is 100% water tight, move on to a bed cap. Some water does get in at the tailgate corners at time's but its minimal. I knew this going in as Ive had other covers, this is the best so far. I did have two issues show up that I thought were a little premature after a year and a half. The cover material separated from one side where it attaches to the weatherstripping and one of the rolling hinge bars on the underside came apart. I also understand that this thing is outside in the elements and used pretty much every day so some wear and tear is expected. I emailed the company, sent some pics with an explanation of the issues and received a new cover within a week. No questions asked. Its faith restoring to experience this kind of customer service these days. You get what you pay for. ... show more

2021 Tundra SR5 short bed. This was a VERY easy install. Once the side rails went up it was smooth sailing. I have a drop in bed liner and didn’t have to do any trimming. That may not be the case for every drop in bed liner so be aware of that. The instructions were straight forward and there are plenty of videos to watch for visual aid. I also have a bed extender and it fits perfectly with the tonneau cover. I am very satisfied with the design and how it all came together, start to finish. ... show more

I had this on my 2016 Tundra for about two years now, so it's about time for a review. This is an well made cover and I really liked the fact that it doesn't ruin the look of the truck. I'm sure the new version is just as good or better. I installed this by myself in about an hour and a half. Followed the instructions, as they are pretty well written. Better than others I've come across anyway. The most difficult part was aligning the cover so it would lock properly. Best thing to do when installing the cover, be careful to avoid shifting it as you install the mounting hardware. Keep fasteners semi-snug, just to keep the position of the cover. Slowly roll it up to see if the cover lines up with the rails, then unroll to check if it locks. If you need to adjust, slowly loosen fasteners just so you can reposition the cover in small increments. Once you're satisfied, repeat alignment and locking steps. If all is good, tighten fasteners. I've been very satisfied with the Revolver cover so far. It's super secure, someone tried to pry it open, cause I saw the pry marks on the lip of the cover by my tailgate, but it did not budge, nor did the frame bend. It's not water tight, cause the sides of the tailgate still allows water into the bed and so does the rails. Maybe add tailgate sealing strips and some thin strips/tape under and along the rails. The exterior of the cover is made of some synthetic leather, so it can get scratched up or ripped. Be aware of what you put on top and how you take things off. Cleaning is easy, I used one of those wide brooms to wash, so I could get the dust and dirt out of the textured cover. If you want to keep it looking new, you will eventaully have to use some shining solution. I used the same stuff for the interior or tires. Only thing that could be improved are the plastic latches that secure the cover when rolled up. I can see these breaking after some time of being exposed to the elements or if overly used while driving. ... show more
