Description

The BAKFlip MX4 was the first matte-finished, hard folding cover to market, becoming America’s 1 Selling Hard Folding Cover in just a few years. Simply put, the MX4 just looks better than other covers. Its sleek no-profile appearance allows you to maintain the appearance of your truck, while enabling you to securely stow cargo in the bed. The MX4’s pioneering, textured matte- finish adds a premium look and feel while also protecting against UV damage, annoying finger print marks, and scratches. MX4 has everything you expect from a premium cover. The engineers at BAK Industries fine-tuned even the smallest elements of the cover, down to adding cab corner caps and rail-end cap, to extending a matte-finish throughout the cover’s side rails, clamps, and elevator bolts. The MX4’s integrated buckle system and automatic latching mechanism allows you to drive with the cover partially or fully opened without covering the 3rd brake light. For 100% bed access, simply unlock the cover from either side via its pull latches and fold the cover all the way up against the cab. From there, you can prop the cover in place by tightening two rods into the underside of the panel. For enhanced durability, the MX4 also features pre-molded, shock-absorbent bumpers on either side of the panel, protecting the folded panels from hitting the cover during turbulent driving. Watch the installation video from the manufacturer. The video makes it very easy. 90 minute install taking my time. The fit is fantastic! After installation which included both "water drain tubes", guess what? It rained. What a coincidence! I can tell you for a matter of fact, this BAKflip is *not* waterproof. However it is darn good. Moisture *WILL* get in. You should plan on storing anything that cannot get wet in separate plastic storage bins. I highly recommend this unit even with minimal water intrusion. Quality build - period. I am very happy with this product. You will be as well just as long as you do not expect it to be waterproof. ... show more

This is my first ever tonneau cover for my F250 and so far it seems great. The instructions were easy to understand and the installation was fairly painless. I park in the garage so I haven't seen how it performs with rain, but the seals seem to be fairly snug all the way around so I'm optimistic. I like the added security for the bed of my truck as I often have expensive tools in the bed that I don't like riding up front in the cab with me. The price is a little high but I considered the price of some of my woodworking tools and justified it because the cost of replacing some of those things would easily cost more than the cover. I recently was driving across a strong crosswind when the old cover was lifted off and flew from my truck driving on the 130 toll road (speed limit 85 MPH). The old cover was twelve years old and to its credit, not well maintained. I had noticed the retainer clip screws loose but did not tighten them. There was little holding this on my truck except the weight. I received this one and it allows me to contrast it to the earlier one from 2012. They added a couple of extra tie down features to this one. The rail securing brackets in the past were aluminum and now they are anodized aluminum making it better visually inside the bed. The drain hoses were improved and can drain into the tire well without drilling or modifying a seal. The only thing that I did not like was the foam gasket for the front of the bed. The old rubber double edged seal was in really good shape from the original unit and I kept it. I don't think the foam gasket would last 12 years without leaking and would likely show wear sooner. It took about an hour to install and at times two people made it easier to install when tightening screws inside the bed that went to the top. I would recommend to others. ... show more

This is the best bed cover I could possibly get! For my application (keep the bed covered from eyes, keep it dry, easy operation, NO VELCRO) this was it, and I'm extremely happy with it. The price is on the high side, but you get a slick looking cover, extremely low profile and the customer service was amazing! I did have a issue, a 1/4 inch scratch/cut on the rubber seal and after contacting the seller and sending them some pictures of it, about 2 weeks later I got a whole new cover in the mail! It don't get any better! So far I love my cover, i had it for 3 months, and i can't think of any negative things. Easy to clean, easy operation... it does not "look/feel" as durable as it is advertised, but I did not try to walk or place anything on top of it eiher so can't really tell - I'm only basing my words on the fact that I can see in my rear view mirror the surface of it kinda shaking and flopping as if the vinyl is not attached to the aluminum rails underneath (which is not the case) while driving. I would definitely buy another one for my next truck or for my wife's, it's a brilliant idea and product. ... show more

This bed cover was well packaged. Instructions were good. Very easy to install. The fit is perfect. My husband and I installed it. It did take about two hours but well worth it. Would recommend it to anyone.
