I did a lot of research before settling on this cover. As with most things, you see people who had problems and people who have had none. Here are my overall observations. * I did get a little water infiltration after a hard rain, but haven't made any adjustments since I installed it, so the leak could be my fault. * Installation is pretty easy. I did it myself in a Ram 1500 crew cab with the 5'7" bed--no RamBox. It maybe took 30 minutes, some of which was spent watching a YouTube installation video. * It looks great. * I love that you can open and close the tailgate with the cover closed. * I've had it in the folded position, going 70mph on the interstate and it held up fine. Only a small bit pokes out from behind the cab of the truck to catch the wind. I will note, though, that had I not had the digital rear view mirror (there's a camera in my third brake light that projects to my mirror) I would not have been able to see through the back window with the cover folded upright. * The cover gets very hot in direct sunlight. I especially found this out during installation. Might want to park in the shade while installing. I can't speak to customer service, etc..., but will try to keep this review updated since this is a high-ticket item and people like me want to get all the information they can before committing. I wasn't sure how to rate the value for the money, but since few of these covers are cheap, it felt like I am getting a well-made product at a cost comparable to other brands. Follow up after several months of use. I've had it parked in and driven during some hard rains and had very minimal to no water infiltration. I will note that when it's parked outside at our house, it is on a slight incline, such that the tailgate is lower than the cab, so that could conceivably make it less likely for water to get into the bed area? Overall, a nice product and I would buy again. As for the question / rating about water resistance - I can't speak to that as of yet, since it is a new install and hasn't been water tested. As for the rest - the installation is fairly simple and the cover is strong and robust. Some things to watch: * Make sure to use the shims if the rails sit at a slight angle, due to some curvature of the bed rails - if they sit at a slight angle, you may have issues with the seal properly contacting the tailgate. There is a supplemental sheet that includes shims and tells you how to use them. Your truck may or may not need them. * They say to install the bulkhead seal as one of the first steps. The install instructions don't clearly specify if the seal should be at the front, rear, or centered on the bulkhead (although the video does say to place it on the edge closes to the rear). I would wait and do this at a later step - for my truck, the bulkhead seal needed to be just a little bit away from the rear edge - meaning I had to remove it and reinstall it (this impacts the adhesive quality!). Its best to fit the cover first, then determine the exact location of the seal. Once the cover is properly fitted and in place, it will be very obvious where the seal needs to be - then you can easily lift off the cover (before securing it) and add the seal. Not having the seal does impact the general install and fitment of the cover - you just need to add the seal before bolting the cover down at the front. * Keep in mind - you don't need the bulkhead seal if you have a drop in bed liner that covers the bulkhead. If the bulkhead surface is painted metal - you need the seal. * While installing the rails, start at the middle (place the first clamp in the middle). I used a vice-grips to initially hold the rail in place - I didn't have a helper and this made it easy for me to keep the rail in place before installing the first clamp. * On the rear panel, I had an issue that required me to remove the latches on both sides of the cover / rear panel, reposition, and reinstall with the sheet metal screws (I used my screw gun for this - but be careful not to strip and over-tighten). The latches were installed with some adjustment capability, but not enough. The latches were sticking out too far and hitting the rails! At first I thought that my rails weren't all the way in - I confirmed this wasn't the issue. A look at the latches on the rear panel compared to the latches on the center latching panel clearly depicted my issue - the latches on the center panel (exact same type of latches) were further in, allowing clearance from the rail. The latches on the rear panel were clearly misadjusted and sticking out too far towards the rails. Again, I didn't have enough adjustment on the latches to compensate. This was fairly simple to do - took an extra 5 or 10 minutes (after figuring out the issue). But this shouldn't have been necessary. If yours sticks - check the rails before moving any latches. You want to make sure the rails are properly seated - otherwise they can interfere with the panels. Overall, nice product and nice look! Hopefully it does a good job repelling water - I have heard feedback both ways. I didn't want to rate that particular function as I haven't tested it. Overall, it took less than an hour to install - even with the minor latch issue. I installed myself without a helper. ... show more

Installed on a Ram 1500 Bighorn. Easy to install, just make sure to snap the clamps into the track to get a solid fit. That part seemed to be left out in the online videos I watched, however it might be in the instructions, which of course I did not read. Some leaking around the rear bed corners when I took it through the car wash, but not too bad. Ram trucks have a gap in the tailgate, so I was expecting that to leak some, which it did, but overall, not too bad. I would rate this water resistant, but not waterproof. ... show more

This MX4 is one of the most overhyped products I have ever bought. Save your money and buy literally anything else. Use a tarp. Use cardboard. It might actually seal better. My cover showed up already damaged. A cracked drain piece. Whatever. I contacted RealTruck and they sent replacements. Great. Except that ended up being the highlight of the entire experience. The real problem is the leaking. This thing leaks like it is trying to put out a fire inside the bed. Water comes through every panel. Not a little drip. I mean it may as well not even be on the truck. I sent RealTruck a video and they agreed it was not normal and offered a new top. That replacement top arrived destroyed too. They shipped it in a box big enough to fit a refrigerator so it bounced around, bent a panel, and snapped clips. So the replacement was actually worse than the original. Impressive, honestly. Amazon gave me thirty percent back and even at seven hundred dollars this thing is still not worth keeping. It looks good, the latches are nice, and that is where the compliments end. Even the tailgate seal barely touches the tailgate. It is like it is not even trying. To add to the comedy, the replacement drain pieces they sent were the wrong size. Every time I emailed, the reply felt like a panic reaction rather than someone actually fixing anything. When I told them the replacement top was broken and the drain pieces were wrong, they basically said sorry, paint a spot on the top and send a picture and we will send another top. So far the tonneau cover is working out fine. It is a value for the money compared to other covers. It fit perfectly on the truck, instructions were not great but you can figure it out fairly easily. Seems to be weather proof. It has rained and stormed out here in Arizona several times since I installed. It folds up easily , love the peg stands that hold the cover up. Very nice looking cover , almost can’t tell it’s there. Also the inside stays pretty dry in the truck wash, I did notice some wetness in the corners by the cab. Not a lot of water but a little bit. Maybe can add more sealant to prevent the slight leakage. ... show more
