This cover is very nice. It was easy to install with the instructions on YouTube. It rained for 3 straight days w/o a drop getting in the bed. It has a nice low profile that barely rises above the top of the bed. The design is great and appears to be very secure. This is my second BAKFlip. The first one lasted 6 yrs and three Ford F-150 Raptors. This new one has several benefits: It is much lighter than my old BAKFlip which makes it easier to install and to flip. Also, the addition of a strap with a nice snap connector keeps the unit firmly in place when driving with it up. My old unit was mostly waterproof but I haven’t really tested this new one but expect it to seal it up well. I did notice that the flap that lays on the tail gate has a double seal to help keep water and dust out. I am impressed with these improvements and it just solidified my decision to buy this second time around. ... show more

This bed cover is built like a tank. Super strong and tough on the initial appearance and installation. The installation was super easy and no problem for one person to complete. Two person installation if you have weight lifting concerns. Minimal tools require and easy to follow instructions. My one negative is like many other companies that produce products that need bolts, screws or some type of widgets to make the installation happen - routinely some of the screws or widgets are missing from the initial boxing, which was the case with the BAK flip I received. Fortunately the screws left out of my packet didn’t stop the main portion of the installation and when I called the company they were very helpful and understanding. A ten minute phone call and the screws I needed were shipped to my residence within days. So far an awesome product! ... show more

This is my second Bakflip product with the first one being a G2 I installed on my new Ford F-150 when I bought it in 2015. The MX4 was installed on my new 2023 Ford F-150 XLT. Installation is easy, I did it by myself with no help. They’ve made some improvement with the rubber weatherstripping on the corners. I have to reglue the corners on my 2015 G2 top annually. Hopefully the MX4 corners will hold up better. They also changed the tailgate seal. With the old G2 you have to unlatch and slightly lift the top panel, close the tailgate and then lower the panel onto to the tailgate. Somewhat irritating but the seal is superior and kept the water out. With the MX4 tailgate seal you just close the tailgate. However, the seal doesn’t relay mate up with the top of the tailgate (especially in the middle where the tailgate step is) so I anticipate it will leak as I can see that the seal doesn’t contact the tailgate there at all leaving a noticeable gap. So, for the improved weatherstripping corners I give them a thumbs up. For the “improved” tailgate seal I give them a thumbs down. However, next time it rains I’ll verify the integrity of the tailgate seal at keeping water out and update this review if I’m wrong about it leaking. I don’t expect the MX4 to be waterproof but I don’t want just pouring in either. ... show more

I've had Bak Flip products in the past and have always had good luck with them. I had the roll up cover and wanted to get a tri fold cover for my new truck. The cover is exactly what I wanted a flush look and good sturdy quality. Being flush and made of aluminum is great quality in deterring people from gaining access to cargo/ gear. Neg could be to some a little heavy and it blocks the rear window. The good thing with the rear window being blocked to acts some what as a headache rack, while transporting cargo. ... show more

This is an update after about 4 years: For a $1000 cover we should expect more. Originally I had problems with the seals coming up. Eventually I ordered and replaced the entire back flap seal. However the replacement seal they send you is not an exact fit or match and it’s already peeling off. The original slid right into a groove which kept it securely in place. The replacement is straight up stick on. No good. Also the entire first (tailgate side) latch section just fell off out of nowhere. The rivets completely pulled out of the cover. Still works for now, but no locking security and I have yet to hear what the company proposes for a fix. Just saying, a cover that costs a grand should last a decade before it falls apart. And replacements parts should be up to that same standard of higher price point. Original review from the first year: I've had 3 different tonneau covers in the last 10 years or so and this by far was the most expensive and somehow yet the least resistant to the elements. Significant amount of water leakage in heavy rains, and glued corner seams are pulling up within just 2 months of use. Not really the durability you would expect from the "leading" industry brand...That being said there is a lot to love about this cover such as bed security when closed and general ease of installation and operational features. Just wish they spent a bit more time at the factory to tighten it all up and match the price point. Pretty sure I will be switching brands. Good luck ... show more

The quality of the materials was the first thing that stood out to me when beginning the install. Very happy with the fit and finish. I recommend watching the install video from BakFlip before doing the install. It will really shorten the over all install time. I think I installed mine in about 30-45min.
