The umbrella holder clamps to my off brand cart very well. It has stayed tight the first 4 rounds that I have used it. It is sturdy and lets me adjust the height of the umbrella since I am just over 6' and had to raise it a little based on where I attached it to my cart. I looked for a while for an umbrella holder that would fit my Tourtrec one click golf push cart. This Bag Boy Universal works great!!! I did have to remove a small piece of the rubber grip on the handle to get the attachment to fit. However, someone with engineering savvy might figure longer screws would work on the handle attachment. When the product arrives, the four screws and the set screws are already on the attachment. An Allen wrench is included to enable you to remove the screws. Then you separate the parts and attach it to the cart handle. Putting on the umbrella holder is easy. The holder will accommodate a sturdy golf umbrella. I use it for walking on the course on a sunny day. A must for the weather in Alabama. ... show more

Although the holder is of good quality materials, there is a serious design flaw. I used this once in light to moderate wind gusts and the 'pusher' or umbrella clamp failed (the part that applies pressure to the base of the umbrella. In the accompanying photo, the critical piece IMO, is only 3/4" in length. That small length is supposed to apply pressure to the umbrella grip when adjusted. The butt end of the screw can rather easily come out of the umbrella clamp IMO due to the clamp's small 3/4" size. I'm not an engineer, but the load/movement of the umbrella in any kind of moderate wind, needs to be distributed over a larger area sic. a larger clamp. If one tightens the clamp too hard, you run the risk of the clamp popping off the screw. I was able to reattach the clamp to the screw, so we'll see how things work in the future. ... show more

Works well enough so far but tightening teeth are small and plastic, strip easily and umbrella falls. Would give 5 stars if this one fitting was more stable. Not sure it's strong enough to withstand frequent usage to walk under shaded umbrella.

Installed onto Nitron cart in under 10 mins based on main pic on the box. hesitant at first since the holder which came wit the cart isn’t all that bad, just not tall enough for 62” umbrella at full vertical position. I’m 5’9. Tilting the umbrella forward made headroom from the rear, but resulted in loss of front visibility when pushing cart， which was irritating when trying to look forward to find ball. This unit clearly is 4” taller (see pic where I positioned the factory one where it would sit on the mount point), and allows me to walk under without having to duck. It does wobble a bit without the golf bag but so did the factory unit. It is well built and I’m looking forward to next outting to test! Great product from Bagboy! ... show more

I am impressed with this product. I used it to attach an umbrella to a chair on a small balcony and it works very well. I like that it moves side to side and backward and forward to follow the sun. I read a couple of reviews where people said the holder slips and doesn't stay in place. But the "gears" are racheted so I don't know how they can slip. Maybe these people mean the mounting piece slips on whatever they have it attached to. But I tightened up the screws as far as I could and it seems to fit very securely. I AM ADDING TO THE PREVIOUS REVIEW, ABOVE. NOW THAT I HAVE USED THIS FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS I AGREE WITH THE OTHERS WHO SAID THE PRODUCT SLIPS...THE WEIGHT OF THE UMBRELLA CAUSES THE HOLDER TO SLIP ON WHATEVER IT IS MOUNTED TO (IN MY CASE A CHAIR, BUT SAME CIRCUMFERENCE AS A GOLF CART) WHEN THE UMBRELLA IS IN A DIAGONAL POSITION (NOT STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN). THE COMPANY TRIED TO DEAL WITH THIS BY ADDING SOME STICKY PATCHES TO THE MOUNTING PIECE, BUT IT IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO PREVENT SLIPPAGE. ... show more
