We had previously bought our pup an elevated bed so he could lounge outside in the sun comfortably. The previous lounger was cheap from Ross and didn't last long. It was also small. THIS lounger exceeded expectations. It is way bigger than I expected, but our pup is very happy about that! He is a corgi mix so it is nice for him to have room to spread out. Royal Pain in the A$$ to assemble. Needed two people. Looks like a 4-year old could assemble (I’m “in”!! Nope). My dog hated it. It slides on wood floors and scared him (he’s a pansy! Not that there’s anything wrong with being a pansy, but he is one). However… product is very sturdy and other than sliding on wood floors. It does not slide on carpet at all and I give it five stars. I donated the one I assembled to my local pet pantry, and I gave the unassembled one to the Humane Society rather than return it because like I said five stars because it is sturdy and would keep your hot pooch cool - but remember on tile and wood floors, it will slide if you have a large dog that jumps on it. ... show more

The Amazon Basics Cooling Elevated Pet Bed, Extra Large (60 x 37 x 9 Inches), Green is very easy to assemble with all the needed tools included, but like always using full sized tools will speed the job up. The material is stiff yet doesn't feel bad when stretched, it reminds me of the lawn chairs of my youth. While the frame itself is very sturdy on a bed this size I would have felt more comfortable if it had two cross bars instead of one. Even so, Bella, my 110lb Cane Corso, sleeps, jumps on and runs over it many times daily and the frame shows no signs of bending. Speaking of Bella jumping on the Amazon Basics Cooling Elevated Pet Bed, Extra Large, that exposes its one major flaw. The bottom of the legs have plastic caps in them and then as SLICK. Bella would run in and jump onto the bed moving it FEET, yes your read that right the bed would slide feet on laminate flooring with a 110lb passenger. That just seemed like a tragedy waiting to play out. I saw some other reviewers mention using 7/8" rubber caps and ordered some but those DO NOT FIT on the XL, you need 1" rubber caps. Once that got worked out Bella's aggressive landings don't budge the Amazon Basics Cooling Elevated Pet Bed, Extra Large. I think Amazon should just add the $6 they sold me the rubber feet for to the price and put them in the box. Maybe even add a "heavy duty" version with a second cross bar for and additional fee. I don't know if it's just me or what, but this absolutely sucked putting together. I got one of the open box ones, and was missing directions I think. I eye balled it, seemed fairly easy to figure out and put together. Two people would definitely make it easier to assemble. I had to leverage it against my desk, and one side would come undone, then the other, then I realized I made a mistake, dropped a screw that got lost then found, and blah. Finally got it done after about 1/2 hour. Using this for the cats with a blanket over it. House is old and drafty, and cold. They're loving it, all dog piled up on it. I think for the dogs I'm just going to get a camping cot that folds up. I got the large, it's a pretty decent sized. I'd say it would easily fit 2-3 medium to large size dogs. The material is like a thick mesh type material. It's not soft. Can't speak to if it's chew proof or not but would definitely hose off and dry easily if need be. Overall happy with it, especially for the cheaper price compared to what they usually go for. ... show more

I have a 60 pound female pit and I got an extra large bed. I don't think I needed that big of one. It really takes up a lot of space but it is also extremely durable. She has jumped on it and it is breathable. I like how sturdy it is. I even sat on it just to test it and it held my weight and I'm about a 180 pounds. My dog seems to like this a lot after I put a cushion on top of it. However, it's loud when he moves around or gets up and down from it... For an elderly dog though this is nice to help him get off the floor a tad easier
