  • Pretty good read!
Normally enemies to lovers/second chance romances start out in a odd beginnings but this particular one, it was one of those exceptions. I actually read this one in a half day!!! I’m really impressed the lead heroine is a regular young woman with glasses but tough as nails with a good heart and has her own flaws, shortcomings and a troubled past. Rory aka Aurora like the character in Disney’s Sleeping Beauty is someone who doesn’t let the harsh outside world dictate how she lives her life and she does it well despite of the awkward reunion with Mascen. The hot, sexy but moody lead male character, Mascen on the other hand, yeah definitely is something else. He got that moody, alpha sexy thing going on. Surprisingly, he’s the star college pitcher at the university where he and Rory are reunited for the first time in ten years. Unforeseen circumstances kept them apart mostly on Rory’s part that made their first reunion start in a rocky start. What I liked most about their love story is it had something real and sweet/sexy/heartfelt roll in one. Also it tackles sensitive issues regarding suicide of a loved one mainly surrounding Rory’s father. It had some really sexy moments between Rory and Mascen!! I’m glad I bought one of the interesting enemies to lovers/second chance novels. It didn’t irritate me at all. It was good!!! ... show more

  • loved!!
Bad Boys Break Hearts by Micalea Smeltzer —————————————————— “Some love stories are a perfect straight line, ours happens to be crooked with plenty of forks in the road.” —————————————————— ⭐️: 5/5 🌶: 3.5/5 —————————————————— Rory worked hard and fought her way out of the hell hole she was calling “home”. She found herself with a full ride to a prestigious college just outside of Nashville, and she was proud that she did it all on her own. Now that she’s finally free and at a place she can call her own, she plans on get her degree and paving her way to becoming a lawyer. Mascen is about to head into junior year, and it’s going to be a great year - if almost running a girl over in the parking lot is any indication. He doesn’t want any special attention or treatment because he gets enough attention being the son of a famous rockstar. It also doesn’t help that he’s a star baseball player. Rory and Mascen were childhood best friends until Rory and her family moved away without a word when she was 8 years old. They never thought they’d see each other again. So imagine their surprise when Rory comes stumbling out - half naked I might add - of Mascen’s best friend’s room after a night of drinking. There’s no reason this shouldn’t be a happy reunion. Right? I loved Rory and Mascen so much. I related to Rory more than I’ve related to most FMCs. Mascen was such a jerk, but what else can you expect from an enemies-to-lovers romance? Their chemistry was off the charts. And Rory calling him a different villain every conversation? I was cracking up - I think her calling him Farquaad was my favorite one. And I absolutely loved their bonus scene. If you’re looking for a second chance, enemies-to-lovers romance involving two people who got “married” when they were little kids, go ahead and add Bad Boys Break Hearts to your TBR!! ... show more

“I brought you a coffee, Princess. Black just like your stained soul. I hope that is how you take it, but if it’s not - complain to someone else.” Book: Bad Boys Break Hearts (The Boys, Book 1) Author: @micaleasmeltzer Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Rory Abbott is new to the college scene. After her questionable upbringing, she has a surprisingly optimistic view of her new endeavors. So when she finds herself going out with her roommates and consequently home with Cole, the last thing she expects is to walk right into the chest of her childhood best friend the morning after, while wearing his shirt. The anger that Mascen has for Rory is a little exaggerated and definitely misplaced, but now he needs to maintain his distance from her as she is dating his best friend and roommate. While Mascen is a baseball player for their college team, this book is light on sports talk - this could be good or bad depending on the reader. Overall, Micaela’s writing style was excellent, making us feel like we are a part of the story line. We do consider this book to be a slow burn, but if you feel the angst between characters like Micaela intended, you will still enjoy this book. • Loved this book!
I've read a few different books by Micalea, and this one absolutely did not disappoint! The slow burn and angst really kept the story going. Super excited to continue this series! I have a feeling they are only gonna keep getting better!
