    • Nice bench but beware of two different versions
I saw this bench on several websites and noticed that there are two versions. The 2020 version has a teal top slat, and the paint is very weathered, too weathered for my taste. The 2021 version has a white top slat and the paint is only lightly distressed. Unfortunately it’s very hard to know which one you’re getting. I believe they have the same product number. I received the 2020 version rather than the 2021 version that I wanted. Luckily I had some spare paint lying around and I like doing little projects like this, so I had some fun repainting the slats. We love the look and the fact that it's easy to lift and move around. It seems we're always chasing the sun or the shade. It moves a little side to side even with everything tightened down and assembled correctly; it would be better if it was a little more solid feeling. We still liked it well enough to buy a second one. It's not going to break or fall apart, but it could use a better fastening design. ... show more

    • Great looking bench however damaged in delivery
The bench is absolutely beautiful and exactly what I expected. It appears to be sturdy and will look great at the entrance way to my townhouse. However, the box it came in was damaged and as a result the wood on the backrest section of the bench was cracked. I am frustrated that I followed the instructions to ask for the replacement part and still have not received a response. I called today and was instructed to do exactly what I did before. I left a voicemail message and will wait and see if I get a response. Would have rated this a 5 had there been no issues with getting a response from the supplier. ... show more

The long and the short of it is the bench looks great and it's quite sturdy! I'm a larger, heavier person but I feel secure sitting on this bench. It's quite comfortable as-is but I may buy a cushion for it in the future.

Keeping in mind this bench has a very reasonable price when I list the pros and cons below. Pros; stylish, VERY easy to assemble, sturdy, packaged well. Cons; misleading weight capacity, poor welding, color of metal does not match photos, unfinished wood. Let me eloborate. The weight capacity on the Amazon listing states 500 pound maximum. The box lists 400 pound maximum weight. Spot welded metal leaves gaps that will allow water inside the frame causing rust. This is why the bench is not suitable for outdoors without sealing these gaps. The metal frame is actually a very light copper, not nearly as dark as the website. The underneath side of the seat and opposite side of the back wood is unfinished. I would recommend sealing these if used outside. Overall for the price I am satisfied with this bench. I will seal the wood and close weld gaps with epoxy. ... show more
