Preparation: This comes in a very heavy box. I was able to load it up on my yard wagon, and take it out to the concrete pad where I was going to install it. Very well packaged, and unboxing went smoothly. If you are doing this on the lawn, make sure you have a place to put the hardware so you don't lose the nuts and bolts. I would recommend using a powered screwdriver with an allen/hex head bit. Assembly of the frame: I was able to assemble the frame mostly by myself. when it came time to connect the posts, My wife was able to help me by holding one end up while I connected the two ends. the fit was a little bit finnicky, but it goes together very tightly. i was able to get the entire frame built There are not that many screw (36 total), and most of those are on the lower posts. Mostly intuitive, and the instructions are pretty good. The only discrepancy I found was when assembling the corners of the top, they insert into a square slot inside the top of the main posts. That part is not clear in the instructions... like I said, mostly intuitive. Topping it off: I was able to get the canopies installed pretty well with no issues. an a-frame ladder probably would have been a better choice than the chair I was using, but don't have one. I put the top piece on first, and worked the main roof hole around that. EZ PZ. The side panels work either as an extended roof, or they fold down as a side wall. There are also connection points on all four sides that allow you to change their setup individually. you don't have to put them up on either side as pictured, and they are easily movable if you want to remove them or change their orientation. Another nice feature is that they are supported on gas struts like a car trunk or hood. you can simply fold them down and use the velcro straps to secure them to the pole and open them later if you want. This was a fun project that wasn't too terribly expensive. It will work on level ground, or a concrete pad. I need to get some concrete anchors to bolt mind down, and they provided holes in the feet for that as well. This is a pretty well made and thought out product, and it takes what was an unusable (because of the sun in Texas) part of my yard and made it usable again. I'm looking forward to adding some patio furniture for it and I've already hooked up a ufo light in the top center to give me 150W of lighting at night. It's designed with metal Grommet drain holes where rain might collect on it. They thought of everything! ... show more

    • Beautiful, Sturdy Gazebo Kit. Great Value!
This gazebo/tent is terrific value and really well made. I've been using it for about two months now and really impressed. I put it up on our patio and fastened it down at each leg. It rains constantly here, especially from fall through spring, and I wanted a home for our outdoor furniture be that would provide shelter from the rain and sun. This gazebo fits the task really well. It is designed smartly and should last a long time. It took a while to assemble -- mostly because I needed to familiarize myself with the instructions and parts, and because it was raining while I was building it. But once I figured out everything, it went together easily. The way the parts go together is clever and the quality seems like it will withstand the elements for many years if taken care of. I plan to modify it a bit over time -- to anchor the legs better and possibly wrap them with cedar to add stability and visual appeal. It would also make sense to improve on some of the hardware eventually. Nothing needs to be done initially but I think it will be good to improve on a few things over time in an effort to keep it in top condition. Overall, I can't say enough good about this gazebo. Backyard Expressions 10' x 10' FOOT Gazebo takes about an hour to set up with TWO Extending Side Panels. The enclosed "how-to instructions" are easy to follow. The stitching is coming loose here and there on the tarp, so time will tell how it holds up over the summer. The line-up for the metal pieces is not very good. There are many bent ends, and it took some effort to align them for the framing. I LOVE the hydraulic arms that work smoothly and efficiently. The metal anchors are too short, so I tied the corners to a fallen tree, a log, and a rock to add a better anchor so it will not blow away in a summer storm. This Backyard Expressions Gazebo beside the creek will be a fabulous resting place when fishing. Recommended. ... show more

This canopy looks even nicer in person ! so mine was came with one ding on one post which wasn’t really an issue for me i just had to be a tad more aggressive to get the two posts together on the one side. The canopy is up easy peasy lemon squeezy and it absolutely looks amazing it works even better! Super smooth lift and close when usingf the extended shade tarps as side pannels. I was incredibly impressed eith this absolytely worth grabbing or adding to any setup you may have. lovely sturdy build, easy to ground and keep in place. the extended tarpes have little openings that help leep rain from pooling and messing up the material with warping it. the center point is elevated and the perfect for allowing the little gazebo to breath and receive any breeze even if the walls are down. I love how shaded this one is and how good the materials are. its hefty but not super heavy so I ended up pinning it but my soil is pretty loose so I also added my own sand weights to it. ... show more

We have the tent and awnings up and assembled and WOW! First, it came very well packaged with no damage or no missing pieces. The frame is NICE. Its's sturdy and yet still lightweight and has a nice aesthetic that looks bigh end. The addition of the side panel awnings give so much shaded space. It literally covers our entire back patio and keeps the sun from beating down on us. I'm so glad we ordered this. We put it together with two people in about an hour and a half, and most of that was deciphering the instructions, but it was not too difficult at all. This tent is a great value and I haven't seen anything else like it that gives this much coverage. ... show more
