Yes, this is a small novel. But it’s a pretty chunk of change price wise, so didn’t want to leave anything out. Let’s start with context. I was quoted some crazy prices to have one built. Was going to just build one, but I needed the hard parts done for me as we have a busy life and I work two jobs. I scoured the home improvement stores, online, everywhere reading every review, looking at every possible brand known and unknown that had something that ticked all my boxes. Here we are. This thing is beautiful. When I say beautiful, I mean beautiful. The pictures do not do it any justice whatsoever. My reviews: I am an avid Amazon enthusiast because I don't have to put on pants to buy things. I am also professional problem solver who prefers a combo of pre built + DIY to customize everything to my needs. (I am very particular and have high expectations) I am not a fan of lighting my money on fire so when I take the time to write reviews, it is so others do not have to suffer the Amazon russian roulette and detective skills needed to decipher influencer bs reviews and fake reviews. Shipping/Packaging Arrived on time in 3 boxes (2 for wood/parts and 1 for roof pieces) that were not as heavy as I thought they were going to be but were still pretty heavy so I let my husband and sons do the heavy lifting. Was very packaged for shipping and parts were organized & clearly labeled. Which I appreciate more than words can express. Build/Assembly This uses the Bilt app, which I wish more items like this leveraged this game changing app. Did not know it existed… Step by step interactive guide made a world of difference. Of course there are paper instructions, a nice thick booklet that are actually pretty well written. We set a small foldable table next the build area to lay out all the bits and bobs like screws and such. Once we did this and my husband seen how easy this was going to be, he jumped right in. Mind you, I was going to build this with his help for the heavy stuff because it takes him forever to do things (no offense to him, I have ADD and always have a new project he has to help with because he is tall lol) But he was sold on assembly. #winning Materials are solid, everything lined up (I was shocked honestly). It took 2 days with about 6 hours each and a 3rd day of about 1:30/2 hours for the bulk of the roof. My husband did 90% of this himself with me waiting not so patiently outside in case he needed an extra hand. the other 10% he needed 1 extra hand which ended up being my 22 year old daughter because she is small & nimble on the ladder attaching the corners while he held the big posts. There was one time he needed my oldest son and my daughter and that was when he was bringing up all three sides at once. Admittedly he did not have two, he could have done it in stages but he did not want to. Overall Thoughts/End Result This took my husband less time to build then it did a small coffee table I got awhile back it seems lol. Ok, I admit I am being dramatic. It didn't take him that long to build the coffee table. Honestly, I was dreading building it because I knew he was going to complain about confusing instructions and holes that don’t line up the whole time. Side note: As you may have noticed in the pictures, we did not anchor it. It’s not moving on its own, and we don’t have like snow storms or anything. Though we did have a huge wind/dust storm and this thing didn’t even move in the slightest. I live in Arizona so if it can survive our surface of the sun car moving wind storms, unless you are in tornado land, you prob will not need to anchor it. Instructions recommend it, but I didn’t want to mess up our travertine or fake grass that cost me more than my mortgage. I will be building my own kitchen on one side, seating on the other, attaching speakers and doing a 3 ft wall around the bottom of all sides but front. Then I will add pull down thick shades to fully enclose it when not in use because AZ dust storms destroy everything. With all this said, do not let anything stop you from buying this or really anything from BD other than which one suits your needs. Also WHERE HAS THIS VENDOR/MAKER BEEN MY WHOLE DIY LIFE?? I would and will buy again. I am already looking at buying a small version of this to put next to my DIY workshop shed to cover the kids bikes/scooters. Money well spent, pleasant experience all the way around and in love with the end result. Happy wife. ... show more

  • EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCT!
Size: 20 x 9.5 ft
Beautiful product!! Have received many good products from Amazon however this is one of the best. Excellent build with laser precise drilled holes. Hardware was exceptionally well finished. The best part was they have real people manning the customer support line and their response is immediate. Tips for other buyers… 1. Follow the instructions to the letter. 2. As suggested. Lay out and label the hardware ahead of starting. 3. CRITICAL.. ensure the foundation is level and shim as necessary. Had a 4” variance on an existing slab. Additionally, it is imperative that the assembly is absolutely square before roofing. 4. I used ratchet straps adjusting tension to ensure it was square before roofing. AGAIN, GREAT PRODUCT, worth the $$ and effort!! ... show more

  • Beautiful Patio Cover
Size: 12 x 9.5 ft
This is a beautiful patio cover once it is assembled. The instructions are very vague, but we were able to get everything figured out. It took 1 1/2 days (11 hours) to put together, and you will definitely need someone to help, especially putting the frame together. I suggest you organize your hardware numerically, and sorts the part by letter. Overall, we are extremely happy with this patio cover. ... show more

  • So much to say with some conflicting opinions...
Size: 8 x 5 ft
Alright, where to even begin because my comments will entail both positive and negative remarks - some of which may seemingly conflict with each other. As a matter of background information, we have a concrete L-shaped rear patio that is quite roomy. However, since it's L-shaped, we are limited in the size and design of any items we can place there. We always wanted some type of Gazebo - a very small one to be exact (with solid wooden pillars/legs) - to serve as a grilling station for our barbecue, however, none seemingly existed on the commercial market and that often meant getting a custom one built. Over the past ten years or so, we've run the gauntlet of different Asian-made small patio structures - all of which did not last but a few years (mostly rust and breakage). And we certainly looked at a few gazebo/pavilion type of arrangements, but they always entailed much larger structures that measured anywhere from 10 x 12 to 14 x 16 feet or larger. We loved the design of those pavilions because they had wooden legs and either steel or aluminum roofs, but they were out of the question for our patio arrangement. So we basically gave up (at least for a while). Now enter this Wooden Grill Gazebo which my wife happened to spot online. When we saw it, we couldn't believe our eyes. Here was one of those seemingly solid constructed scenarios with just the right size, and it appeared that it would fit our patio perfectly, so we ordered it. Now let me say right off the bat that although this is an ideal barbecue grill gazebo, it is NOT, in our opinion, worth $1000 - and even now looking at it again on Amazon, there is one vendor selling it for over $2000 - ridiculous! Now realistically, I can see where this structure may sell for $500 to $700 - but on the same hand (to be honest), it is a product that definitely fills a void. This Saxony Wood Grill Gazebo arrived in two boxes - each weighing approximately 150-175 lbs each. My two boxes were relatively unscathed, so that was good news. The shipping organization will only deliver them to your front driveway, or inside of an open garage - and will not carry the boxes to the rear of the home where most patios are located. In opening the boxes, everything is neatly packed and laid out. For those of you who hate lots of parts, well you'll have to get over it, because there are something like 20-25 bags of different screw lengths, nuts, bolts, clamps, etc. Each bag is conveniently numbered, and the instructions are fairly easy to follow - but you will have to pay close attention because the instructions are in small writing with lots of number references, and it could be easy to make a mistake. In fact, we made two errors - only found after-the-fact when we were two steps beyond that earlier stage - which caused us to have to then remove/uninstall what we previously did to correct the error. It took us around 8 hours to complete everything - split between two days. This is a solidly constructed unit to be sure, and we love the thick cedar pillars/legs (which are not heavy at all by the way). In my opinion, the weakest aspect about this gazebo is the roof and other steel areas. You'll see what I'm talking about when you reach the end of this assembly product and come to the roof part. And I most certainly wish it were aluminum, rather than this powder coated steel which scratches easily, and if you had the experiences we had with these Asian made powder coated (supposedly rust-free) metal items, you'd know that they will most certainly rust within 2+ years or so. So we're prepared to have Rust-o-leum paint ready to paint the roof area soon if need be. All in all the completed gazebo will definitely fill some badly needed areas that heretofore, have been neglected. If you are looking for an outdoor (smaller area) gazebo that looks like one of the big boys in construction - especially for grilling areas - then this is your model. However, again - it is not worth the $1000 to $2000 (some vendors are gouging) for such a small gazebo. Me-thinks that a good $300 - $400 for the price are for shipping costs. But hey, it is what it is... The only reason I'm not assigning it 4 stars is the result pf a combination of pricing, some assembly difficulties, and the use of steel which will eventually rust (again, aluminum would have been idea and perhaps justified the higher price). When you consider that some gazebo/pavilions sized at 10 x 12 are priced at $999+ in some of the membership club stores, it makes you wonder why vendors charge so much for this little Barbecue Gazebo - so figure. But in the end, this fits the bill big time and looks gorgeous. I've attached several photos of this gazebo on our limited patio and as you can see, the design is just perfect. ... show more
