2014 Escape Titanium - camera was working intermittently, so after a little research I decided to replace it. I decided on this T-1A Camera due to the statement that says "surpasses OEM standards with Next Gen Chip Sensors and superior image quality. It has a factory appearance and direct installation, and is CAPA certified for reliability." Now I did not know what CAPA Certification meant but it sounds good, right? Turns out it is a good thing. Here is what CAPA Certification is: "The Certified Automotive Parts Association is a non-profit organization. They dedicate their time to testing and certifying replacement auto parts of all kinds. And since they’re totally independent, there’s no corporate bias to go along. Maybe it’s because of the term “certified pre-owned vehicle” that many people think a certified auto part is used. But the reality is that new replacement parts are difficult to vet, and CAPA has taken it upon themselves to prove which aftermarket parts are genuine and which aren’t worth a dime." Copied in part from HeadLightsOn.com. After watching a couple of videos I decided to tackle the job. This job requires some interior panel removing tools, a 10mm deep well socket, a #10 Torx Driver and a Phillips screwdriver. Removing the interior back hatch panel is easily 1/2 of the job. Once you get all of the clips on the panel pulled free, there's one wiring harness that need to be unplugged, a helper to hold the panel will speed that up a lot. Same for putting it back on. If you have the motorized rear hatch door, it helps to disconnect the controller harness, otherwise it keeps trying to close on you! Once the rear panel is off, there are four nuts to remove for the trim piece that holds the camera, it also has one spring clip retaining it, so you have to wiggle it and pull it out, like the interior panel. Once that is out it's a no brainer, switch out the camera, put everything back together and done! I like to put everything back as clean as possible, so while it's all apart, I clean everything inside and out before putting it back together. So having never done this before, installing the new camera and cleaning everything up to near new condition, it took me one hour. It works perfectly and yields a nice clear picture. ... show more

Bought this replacement camera for my 2014 Titanium Ford Escape. Watched a YouTube video on how to replace and it worked! Honestly the longest part was finding a deep/long 10mm socket you need to remove trim to access the camera. This camera has similar quality to the stock one that went out. Definitely glad I did this myself and didn’t take my car to the dealership. ... show more
