  • Definitely worth it
Format: Paperback
I'm a violin student and i needed this book specially because i'm studying partita 3 and let me tell you that this book is totally worth it, from start the shipping was really fast, took a week to the package to be right in front on my door in ecuador, besides that the paperback is really good, the prints are nice and as clear as you can get and as a bonus it comes with a copy of the original manuscript by J.S Bach, i'm really happy with this book :,) ... show more

  • It’s Bach….I said enough
Format: Paperback
It’s something every violinist should have if they are pursuing violin. And you have to play these in college as well. I wish the binding was spiraled. We just make copies and work with those.

  • A must-have for any serious violinist
Format: Paperback
The painstaking edition efforts of Mr. Galamian have paid off in the well-deserved use of this book in almost every major conservatory. Fingerings and bowings are updated to suit modern instruments, but it provides a facsimile of the music in Bach's own hand as well, for anyone who wants to go back to the source. Of course, one should think for him/herself when playing, but Galamian has written down immensely helpful fingerings for tricky passages, which might be considered not idiomatic on the violin. ... show more

  • Quality publishing, easy to read
Format: Paperback
This is a classic so I’m speaking of the publishing and not the content. I mean, what else is there to say about Bach? This edition is clearly printed and easy to read. The paper has a substantial feel and is off-white to prevent eye strain. Most importantly, the binding lays open easily on the stand and does not try to close while you are playing it. This is a quality publisher. ... show more

  • It's stupid difficult haha
Format: Paperback
Some of the bowings, markings and fingerings are "sus". They seems to be of a more old-school style (lots of shifts with glisses) rather than modern/baroque. The quality of the paper is good, and erasing my own markings does not dull the ink. The Chaconne is like 10 pages or something rather than the 4-5 pages of the other versions due to the arpeggios being written out in two lines (one line as a chord and one line as arpeggios), so it kind of forces an interpretation in how you are suppose to play them if you are just learn for the first time. Maybe buy this version as your second copy of the bach 6 instead of the first. ... show more

  • Perfect for Self-Study
Format: Paperback
The fingering and the phrasing helps a lot and the take is a lot more comprehensive than other editions. It makes the most sense and the facsimile is just a treasure in itself. This book is something that I would refer to for the rest of my life which is something that I cannot say for the edition that I had used when it was first introduced to me. What's great is that this edition is not imposing on its idea of interpretation. ... show more
