  • It works
My bathroom drain has been draining very, very slow. I tried simple things like hot water, baking soda and vinegar which had worked before. I checked the trap more than once. And it was just getting slower. I searched tik tok and found this. I thought i would give it a try before calling a plumber. It arrived today and my bathroom sink now drains. Apparently, I now know i am an officially a middle aged adult now because I am so excited. One of my attachment was torn so 4 star instead of 5 ... show more

  • 50/50
90% of ppl think 10 pimps should get the toilet to work and flush down but that is a lie… you need a MINIMAL of 35-40 pumps and it takes some serious muscle to do it unless you take breaks. But I took a HUGE #2 then it got clogged I pumped 10 time and it did NOTHING… after 40 pumps it made a huge mess but the toilet finally Flushed! It beats paying $140 to a plumber to snake it ... show more

  • What does "giftable" mean? This would make a terrible gift...
But it's something you need, ESPECIALLY if you live in an old house with a mix of old and new plumbing like I do. Plus, we only have 1 bathroom. Quick story: my toilet backed up the weekend before Easter and I had to pay for Roto-Rooter to come out on a Saturday night. It cost 500+ USD (to basically auger my toilet), but it's one of those unavoidable things, you know? You gotta have a toilet - and that day I'd used the bathroom at the nearby convenience store, a Target, the library - and I still had Sunday to get through. So I really didn't have a choice. After I paid that price, I started looking around for what the guy used to auger the toilet with. I figured if he could fix it with that, then so could I. I stumbled across this on Amazon and instead of costing $100 at Lowes, it cost like $35. Since April I've used it 3x... figure I've said at least $450 (assuming each trip would've happened in the day time, and a standard plumber trip for unclogging a toilet is $150). It's not pretty, and sometimes you have to get a little up close to the gross stuff (glasses and a mask are a MUST), but if you want to save money or live on a budget, this is a good purchase. Now, it's not going to clear it immediately. This last time it took about 10 resets/fires. Plus, you have to make sure you're using the right head (they send you 4 "universal" heads in the box) for your toilet. But if you keep trying, eventually it will work. If it doesn't, then at least you tried something first. ... show more

  • Confusing directions
Haven't used it yet. The one-sheet instructions say to "prepare and support your drain system, exposed drain traps - as shown in the instruction manual." Is the manual the one sheet of paper that comes with the device? If so, there is nothing clearly in it about what "support" means. It does say that the manufacturer is not responsible for "damage due to unsupported traps." George ... show more

  • It worked, and I was getting desperate!
My bathroom sink always runs slow, and every now and then it gets a partial clog. This time around, plunging the partial clog just pushed it farther down the line and created a near-total clog. I tried drain cleaners, plungers, boiling water, vinegar + baking soda, you name it. It was going on a week of not being able to use this sink. The next thing to try would be to disconnect all the pipes and run a snake back into the wall -- I had to do that last time it got this bad, and it is a miserable job getting everything taken apart and put back together. Instead I bought this gadget, with next-day delivery. I pressurized it, pushed it up against the drain, fired the trigger, and the clog loosened up (some of the water went down). On the next blast, the drain was not only completely open, it is no longer even slow. It's been at least 15 years since the drain worked this well. So, I'm a believer. This was a seriously bad clog, not in the p-trap, but in the lateral line behind the wall. I can see how this would be trickier on a toilet, particularly if the clog involved solid waste and disgusting sewage water. I think it could get very messy using it on a toilet. With the sink drain attachment, it was very easy and clean, and nothing sprayed on me or the walls. It takes some strength to pressurize this thing, so keep that in mind, ladies. At the end, I couldn't pump the handle by hand, so I was leaning on it to get it up to the recommended 15 pumps. And the trick is that the pipe you're blasting. has to be nearly full of water. I wonder if the people who said it didn't work for them actually knew that. It doesn't come with actual instructions, but the steps are listed right here on this page, so you can read them here. There are four different attachments that are shaped/sized for various uses: toilet, kitchen sink drain, basin drains, and very small drains. I wish I could figure out how to use this on my washing machine standpipe, which often overflows. ... show more
