After trying this flat iron, I honestly had pretty high expectations because BaBylissPRO has consistently made some of my favorite hair styling tools over the years. Thankfully this one did not disappoint. The first thing I noticed was how quickly it heats up. It reaches the desired temperature fast and maintains it well throughout use, which makes styling much quicker and more consistent. I also like how smoothly it glides through the hair. It does not tug or snag and leaves hair looking much sleeker and more polished after just a few passes. The results honestly feel very close to what I would expect from a salon-quality tool. The digital controls are easy to use and I appreciate being able to select a specific temperature rather than being stuck with a few preset options. That makes it easier to adjust for different hair types and styling needs. The overall build quality feels premium and durable. It has a nice weight in the hand without feeling too heavy and the plates seem to distribute heat evenly. The only downside is that it is more expensive than many basic flat irons on the market. That said, the performance and quality help justify the higher price. At the moment, I would definitely recommend this item!

I have medium-length, coarse, thin hair. I use the lowest temperature setting, and it heats up instantly. The BaBylissPRO 1" TrueTension Professional Hair Straightener makes my hair smooth, frizz-free, and flowy all day. With practice, I can probably speed up my styling using this tool. It currently takes me around 5–10 minutes to style. Since my hair is not very thick, I use the thin hair thickness switch control. You simply clamp the tool, and it gives your hair the pressure based on your setting. The tool glides smoothly through my hair. The temperature and on/off buttons are a bit hidden on the inside, which makes them slightly inconvenient for me to use. However, the advantage is that I don’t accidentally press them. The ironing tool feels very durable and professional-grade. The cord is long and swivels well. I didn’t really use any heat-resistant product, but it’s probably a good idea to use one when using a heat tool like this. This is by far one of the best hair straighteners I’ve ever owned. I love how it makes my hair look and feel after using it. This tool is very pricey, and I hope it will last a lifetime!

I have naturally fine, straight hair, so I mostly got this to use for curls and styling instead of straightening. It works really well for that and heats evenly without snagging my hair. The plates glide smoothly and it’s easy to get soft curls or bends instead of that super stiff curled look. I’ve also used it on wigs and it works great for styling heat resistant synthetic and human hair wigs without feeling awkward or bulky in the hand. Overall it feels high quality and definitely better than a lot of cheaper flat irons I’ve tried. I do appreciate the lock function so I can store it without worrying about the plates getting damaged.

Full disclosure, I ordered this for my lady, so I’m not actual user here. As a gadgeteer, I did give it a look over and I’m impressed with the build quality. It has a solid and comfortable in-hand feel, which is probably important given the purpose of this tool. And still, it’s light and comfortable to hold at awkward angles without fatiguing. As a safety geek I also admired the power cable’s strain relief and its detangling design that allows the cord to move with you rather than fight you. To me, while strain relief is boring it’s always a tell to how well a product is designed. Of course, this detangling feature adds to easier handling and less frustration when using the straighter too. To me this ultimately is a good forecast that it will last as I doubt accidental tugs are any challenge to it. My lady, who has fine, straight hair, says this straightener is the most satisfying one she’s ever owned. We both agree it leaves her with softer hair. She also noted the near instant speed at which it heats up so she doesn’t have to wait around, especially when she’s pressed for time and her hair is a frizz ball.

I was honestly impressed by how many features this styling tool has. One of my favorite parts is the tension feature, there’s a button you press that adds extra tension while styling, and it really helps get the hair smoother and silkier. You can actually feel the difference when using it, especially on thicker or textured hair. I also like that the temperature buttons are placed on the inside, which helps prevent accidentally changing the heat while styling. The heat range starts at 300°F and goes all the way up to 465°F, so there’s a good range depending on your hair type and how sleek you want the results. There are also two buttons on the side with indicator lights. The tension/light button activates the tension feature to help grip and smooth the hair better while styling. The airflow button controls the air function, which helps direct airflow through the tool while using heat. Together, those features help the hair come out smoother, shinier, and more polished. Overall, this tool feels well thought out and works really well if you want a sleek, silky finish with more control while styling.

First of all, I am in love with all BaByliss products. I exclusively use their hairdryer, curling rods and flat irons. But this is next level technology! The electromagnetic technology straightens your hair more quickly, with less damage and with fewer passes through your hair. I love that this iron has the ability to adjust the temperature control as well, meaning you can use less heat when you're working with second-day hair, to further reduce damage. The cord on this iron is plenty long and my favorite feature is the locking mechanism that keeps the iron closed and compact for packing without risking damage to your clothing or other items when you need to pack it while it's hot. I could not be more pleased with this purchase. It straightens my hair in a single pass and leaves my hair sleek and shiny. It might seem a little pricey but believe me, it's worth every penny!
