    • Got in a wreck that TOTALED the car weeks after buying, three year old completely unharmed
Why did you pick this product vs others?: We picked this car seat because of the affordability. About three weeks later, someone rear ended me and my three year old in this car seat going 55 miles per hour at least, maybe more, and while I was stopped to turn left. I have been hurting for weeks, gone to the chiropractor multiple times, but my three year old has been seen by her pediatrician and by her chiropractor and besides some psychological stress, she was completely fine. A paramedic on scene specifically said that if she was buckled up properly using a five-point car seat, she should be ok, and she was. Everyone else left the scene in an ambulance except for me and my child, and I’ve been hurting but she’s been completely fine. Every car was totaled except one (not mine, mine was totaled). Tethering straps are a bit of a challenge. They don't fit right and can't be tightened so you need to use the car seat belt whether you want to or not. Other than that great car seat! Easy to assemble, though that seems a strong word for getting everything lined up. I love that the extra padding is reversible. Other reviews mentioned the straps for the harness are a little short. Transitioning from toddlerhood to childhood is tough, but this seat helps my 4 year old feel like a big kid without compromising on safety. It was a cinch to put together, it grows with the kid, and is easily adjustable, so whether they are wearing a tutu, or jeans, it’s a quick adjustment and it doesn’t fall apart when transferring vehicles, plus it’s super light weight. 2 major inconveniences, 1 being the seat belt slots are way to high so installation isn’t great. And the bottom pad doesn’t secure to the car seat at all. Other than those things it’s good. I’m a mechanic so assembly isn’t ever fun but the seat itself seems sturdy. Even the cheapest car seats for kids have to pass safety tests. So don’t think you have to spend tons of money to keep kids safe. ... show more
