  • From Salon Regular to DIY Diva—My New Go-To Nail Kit!
Alright, let me tell you—I was a salon loyalist for eight years. Every 4-6 weeks, without fail. But after getting laid off in August, I couldn’t justify the splurge. So I took the plunge into the world of DIY nails. I started with gel polish, but it chipped faster than my patience. So, I decided to try dip. I was going to keep it simple with just pink, but these old eyes saw a big difference between pink and white. Next time, translucent for the win! My nails were short and paper-thin (thanks, leftover dip) but not anymore! I did just two dips, carefully avoided my cuticles with the primer, and voilà—strong, shiny nails. A little buff, two top coats, and they'd be ready to wear solo, but I’m all about nail art! So, yes, that’s gel on top, and yes, that’s my first attempt at nail art. And YESSSS, I AM IN LOVE. I’ve already texted my friends—we’re having a nail day. I need more practice canvases! If you’re on the fence, hop off! This kit is fantastic and ridiculously easy to use. Just did these yesterday, so I’ll update if they don’t hold up for 20 days—but so far, total winner. Update .. Nov 29, 2024 today is 20 days and they are going strong! I put an updated picture. Really love this stuff. ... show more

  • Great started kit for beginners
I wanted to try to do my own Dip Powder nails instead of going to the salon so I thought it would be good to start with some more neutral colors. This kit was great, easy to use and includes instructions. The powder is good quality and after some trial and error on my part my nails turned out really pretty. The only issues I have with this kit is the little plastic cup they provide to put the powder in for dipping is really thin and flimsy and makes a mess, I found it better just to dip right into the powder container instead. ... show more

  • Strong Odor and Poor Results
I was disappointed with this dip powder kit. The liquid components (the polish-type bottles) have an extremely strong and unpleasant smell, much stronger than other dip systems I’ve tried. After doing my nails, the results didn’t last long — the manicure started to lift and chip much sooner than expected. The worst part is how weak my nails felt after removing the product. They became very soft and fragile, much more than with other brands I’ve used. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this kit if you’re looking for long-lasting results or want to keep your natural nails healthy. ... show more

  • UPDATE 2: Easy-to-use with salon results.
I decided to remove my acrylics and as expected my own nails were a mess underneath and super short! I tried gel polish with a UV light and the polish just peeled off making the condition of my nails even worse and didn't help with growing them out at all. I watched a few YouTube videos for application tips before I started and am really surprised at how easy this was to do (one video did mention this product as one of the top less expensive systems to use). I wanted a light color due to how short they are so chose to do one coat in 103 and then to add a little sparkle I did 2 coats of 353. Make sure you set aside enough time... it took me a little over 3 hours to do both hands. Also, the biggest two takeaways from the videos were DO NOT wash your hands prior to application and easy slow control of the liquids. Easier to control than polish so there is no messy paint on my cuticles or skin! I really do love the way they look and feels strong too which I hope will alow my nails to grow out! I will update as my nails grow and report if any chipping or lifting happens within the next week or so. Overall it was a great experience into exploring nail dipping, in love with the results, and excited to experiment more when my nails grow out! UPDATE 1: It's been a week and not one chip and my nails have grown a little bit too! I'm still super happy with this product! Update 2: Week two and no chips! Nails are growing too. A good investment! ... show more

  • Mixed Review
I recently tried out the AZUREBEAUTY Dip Powder Nail Kit Starter, and my experience with it has been somewhat mixed. While the kit offers convenience and a decent range of colors, there are a few aspects that left me feeling somewhat disappointed. First, I appreciate the convenience of having a complete starter kit that includes everything needed to try out dip powder nails. The kit comes with a range of colors, base coat, activator, top coat, and all the necessary tools. This comprehensive package eliminates the need to purchase individual components separately, making it a suitable option for beginners or those looking to experiment with dip powder nails at home. However, I found that the quality of the dip powders varied. While some colors provided excellent coverage and a smooth finish, others required multiple layers to achieve the desired opacity. The inconsistency in the pigmentation was disappointing, as it meant spending more time and effort to achieve the desired results. The application process itself was straightforward, thanks to the detailed instructions provided with the kit. The brushes and tools included were of decent quality and allowed for precise application. However, I did find that the powders tended to clump together, making it challenging to achieve a smooth and even coat. This inconsistency in texture made the application process more time-consuming and required additional buffing and shaping to achieve a desirable result. I must note that the durability of the dip powder nails was satisfactory. When applied correctly and with proper care, the nails stayed intact for a decent amount of time without chipping or peeling. This durability is a definite plus for those seeking long-lasting nail results. One aspect that fell short of my expectations was the drying time. Despite claims of quick drying, I found that the dip powder nails took longer to dry and set compared to traditional nail polishes. This longer drying time meant that I had to be extra cautious and patient to avoid smudging or damaging the freshly applied powder. Lastly, the removal process was somewhat challenging. Removing dip powder nails requires soaking in acetone, and I found that it took longer than anticipated to dissolve and remove the powder completely. This extended removal process can be time-consuming and requires additional effort compared to regular nail polishes. In conclusion, the AZUREBEAUTY Dip Powder Nail Kit Starter offers convenience and a range of colors for those interested in trying out dip powder nails at home. However, the inconsistency in pigmentation, clumping during application, longer drying time, and challenging removal process detracted from the overall experience. While the kit provides a good starting point, it may require some patience and practice to achieve the desired results. ... show more
