I watched some tutorials online and am slowly mastering doing dip on my nails! I started while they were short and I’ve been able to grow my nails out and apply strictly to my natural nail! I would say it’s less damaging than acrylic and gel and it looks pretty good considering I’m definitely not a professional! I ordered the 20 color starter kit. All of the powders were intact and the liquids were still liquid with no brush issues on unpacking. This is my first time doing powder dip, and I must say this kit was extremely easy to use, especially after a few YouTube videos. I can definitely see why everyone says that it will get easier with successive applications, but I had fun. I don't think I realized how significantly darker than the powder the actual color will be. I used two coats. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the product; however, you will need to invest in additional nail files/buffing blocks, because the one that comes with the kit is essentially destroyed after one application. ... show more

I used to go to the nail salon once every 3 to 4 weeks to have my dip nails done. I’m not really one for nail art. The craziest I get is doing 2 to 3 colors per hand. And boy do I love glitter! I found myself spending way too much money, and decided to try the manicures myself. first of all the liquids are very easy to use. Secondly, the powder is super fine so it doesn’t clump. I usually do three coats of the dip powder and then two coats of the topcoat. I have done this three times now and each time I get a little bit better. I will say I tried a different brand of liquids and I really did not like them compared to these – – which are awesome. I cannot yet speak to the longevity of the polish, but it seems pretty strong. I feel that I should mention that the coats or the layers of dip are very very thin. I actually prefer it to the really thick layers that I used to get at the salon. honestly I highly recommend this product. The number and selection of colors in the set are amazing! From start to finish I think a manicure takes maybe 40 minutes and that’s if I’m taking my time trying to do everything precisely. Overall, I could not be happier with this product. ... show more

DIY dip nails do take patience, but so worth it! It does not have an in package color reference so I have to come to my Amazon order to see which dip is what color. You really can't tell what you will end up with by seeing the powder in the jar. This powder lasts a full 2 weeks and does not chip or break. Really impressed with the quality of this. ... show more

Updating again - I tried it again with double mask, eye protection, and ventilation and had the same adverse reaction. I’m not allergic to anything else and have never had a reaction like this before. This stuff is going in the trash and i won’t use it again. I am updating my review after my second use. If you’ve never heard of “dip flu”, please google it and read up before buying this product. I had never heard of it, but after the second time using this I started wheezing and coughing and my nose started running. It was like the worst cold ever had suddenly come over me in a matter of minutes. It started last night and I’m still very stuffy and now headachy as well. I’m not sure whether I will try to use this product again in a better ventilated space with a mask, etc, or just give it up entirely, but i wish I had been aware when i purchased it - so I wanted to make sure others have that info from the outset. Original review: I wanted my nails to look nice, but couldn’t stomach the cost of having them done regularly at a salon. I decided to try these and they came out better than I thought! There is definitely a learning curve, and to make them look good you really need to take your time. Also this powder gets everywhere. Set out paper towels or something to catch all the powder, and give yourself lots of space. I think I’ll stick with it for a while, I suspect it will get easier over time - and my friend who used to own a nail salon was super impressed with the results! ... show more
