The kit came in a really nice and clean pink box with everything so neatly put inside to the point I will keep it in the box after every use. The powders and the liquids all worked well. I am very pleased with this product. The jars are small but all that comes in this kits was well worth it!! The liquids I must add did not have a strong oder as some others brands. Plus it was not thick and it went on the nail very nice and the powder with the dip dish worked wonders...!! Its a must buy and I will b buying more colors when the liquid runs out. As far as beginners go, this is a great kit that includes everything you could need to apply and enjoy a nice dip nail manicure. The color selection is great for nude or colorful sets and the pictures are very accurate to the real life payoff. The glitters vary in consistency and require more care in applying for a satisfying result. The liquids work well together and are pretty simple to understand and use, but do require a bit more care than described in the instructions to keep them from becoming contaminated. Overall, I've loved using the glitter powders and the top coat is excellent. I don't personally prefer the included Beetles base because I prefer a thinner base (like the inexpensive asp Quick Dip acrylic powder set) and I found using just their top coat or their all-in-one base and top coat doesn't give me a long-lasting manicure. I'm pretty hard on my nails, so YMMV. THE VALUE: Excellent for what is provided. EASE OF USE: Good for beginners. THE POWDERS THEMSELVES: Great variety of colors and great color payoff. The glitters are coated so the glitter powders have stronger color payoff than other powders available at this price point (where it's just silver glitters set in a lightly-colored translucent base.) The downside to coated glitters is that if you file the glitter powder down for a more even appearance, the silver will show. Some of the glitter colors are chunkier than others (Z571, the true blue specifically) and are more difficult to get an even application. This could be due to the higher proportion of glitter to base powder for those colors. In comparison, the deep blue Z572 is a DREAM to apply and I didn't need to do much/any filing with it after a little practice. The solids are all opaque and smooth. Some of the darker colors lose a bit of visible pigment when filed down, but not as much as blacks or really deep colors can. THE LIQUIDS: My biggest complaint is that this set doesn't include any prep liquids. If there was a dehydrator included, this would be an A+ for beginners since skipping that step leads to massive lifting issues. A dehydrator and bonding liquid (like Sparkle & Co's pH prep) are two things I consider essential with ANY nail product application, from polish to traditional acrylic. The base and top coat are pretty thick and make it difficult to apply a thin layer. The base WILL dry out quickly if you don't take a lot of extra care (wiping the excess liquid off the top of the neck before you put the brush back in EVERY TIME) while applying your manicure. I personally don't like how thick the formulas are since thicker layers are more prone to breaking/cracking/chipping. Even when I use copious layers of Activator on the powder and base, the chipping issues were things I had to fix daily. Every day, I was repairing or reapplying at least one nail. I didn't like the all-in-one base and top coat from Beetles as it lead to crumbling-type issues with cracks or chips with how hard I am on my nails. I prefer using ASP's Quick Dip liquids with these powders as it prolongs lifting/chipping/cracking from 1-3 days with Beetles liquids to a week+ per nail. I still use the Beetle Top Coat for shine since it's glorious for that. I think their UV cure gel topcoat is the best for a low-fuss and longer-lasting shine.

I had bought an Gelish express dip starter kit. I used a few times and noticed the two in one base/top coat was turning all thick and unusable. I went online and purchased this beetles set of 2 in 1 base/top coat and activator. So far, it works good with all my Gelish powders. I tend to dip the base/top coat brush in between fingers in the brush restorer. So far that little trick has kept the 2 in 1 base/topper thin and usable. Would buy again.

I definitely recommend this product, it's great quality i received this item March 3 I believe, and I did my nails on that day. It's been 4 days and NO CHIPPING! This set are my 3rd dip set I've done ever! Between acrylic and gel/poly gel I've been doing my nails for 20 years, so I guess there's an advantage there. I did get a couple of modelones dip set and this one, I've used both and my modelones set chipped within a day, and it's been 4 days and this beetles set is still going strong, I love it. I personally just don't like how slow setting it is (the bonding) I feel like I have to sit for about 5 mins or more before dusting after each dip ( I do 4, 5 if we count the clear) I don't like that this kit doesn't come with a clear dip, one thing I can say about nails is to ALWAYS I mean ALWAYS put a clear layer of whatever product you're using. This clear layer will protect your natural nail from staining and future sets, this clear layer you are to leave there till whenever you feel fit for a full soak off. I only fully remove the product when I see fit and it's probably once a year, but due to changing nail product to dip I did remove everything from my nails. I hope my review helps someone. 🤍

I was so excited and confident with this dip set. You're supposed to apply a "thin layer" of the base coat, but it's so thick and goopy there was absolutely no way to evenly apply a THIN layer. It was so cakey and splotchy. It smells like super glue. I should have stuck with my initial idea to only try out 1 nail but I ended up doing 1 hand thinking "maybe it'll get better".. what a waste of time! I like the color but it looks nothing like any of the color options on the picture. I'll try again with a diff brand for base coat/activator. Hopefully it comes off easier than it was putting on!
