It arrived rolled up and compressed in a box, and I was impressed with how easy it was to set up—just unbox, unwrap, and it started expanding right away. It had barely any odor, which was a big relief since I’ve had other boxed mattresses that needed days to air out. Once it was fully expanded (within a few hours), the mattress looked and felt really high-quality. The surface has just the right amount of cushioning without being too soft—it’s definitely on the medium-firm side, which I personally like. I’ve had some back issues in the past, and when I laid on this, it felt supportive and evenly balanced. The pocket coils underneath give it a nice bounce while also helping with motion isolation. I tested it by sitting on one side while placing a cup on the other, and the cup barely moved—so it should be perfect for light sleepers or anyone sharing a bed. One feature I really appreciate is the edge support. You can sit or lie near the edge without feeling like you're about to slide off, which isn’t always the case with mattresses in this price range. The hybrid construction really makes it feel more stable overall. I also like knowing it’s CertiPUR-US certified, which gave me peace of mind about the materials being safe and low in VOCs. This mattress has been a hit so far—my guests have commented on how well they’ve slept, and I’ve even snuck in a few naps myself. Edit: the customer support team reached out to me shortly after leaving this review and offered me a gift card or replacement mattress. I opted for a replacement. I sent the support person the link to my previous mattress that I loved and they sent back what they felt were similar options. After checking the reviews I selected one. The shipping was quick and I just unboxed it. But I am updating my review to 5 stars because the customer service was truly top notch. Shoutout to August for being amazing! I really wanted to love this mattress but I’m struggling. I have another Avenco mattress and I LOVE it, unfortunately they don’t seem to sell it anymore so I searched their available mattresses and read reviews and landed on this one. Pros: - Comfort: it is a firm but soft mattress and is really comfortable - Delivery: super easy no issues - Set up: the mattress rose to proper form quickly and there was no funny smell Cons: - Soft Edges: the edges are so soft I feel like I’m going to roll off. I even spun the mattress hoping for a different result and it was the same. If my large dog lays on the edge it feels like we could both roll off at any point - Holes/Soft Spots: there are soft spots/holes in the mattress almost like some padding or something was not distributed properly. All of this said, if it wasn’t a daily use mattress it would be a good investment but for daily use it isn’t my favorite. I have to get just in the right spot to be comfortable. Thank goodness it was inexpensive or I would be much more upset

Upon unboxing this mattress, I anticipated a decent night's sleep. The setup was straightforward - it expanded adequately on my bed frame. I noted the comfortable feel of the surface. Lying down, the mattress provided a reasonable level of body support. I tend to shift in my sleep, and motion from my partner was less noticeable. This mattress appears to handle motion isolation quite well. I generally wake up feeling rested, which is a welcome improvement. The breathable fabric seems to contribute to a cooler sleep environment. I used to have some trouble settling down, but now I fall asleep with more ease. The edges offer sufficient support, making it easier to sit on the side. This mattress has made a noticeable difference in my sleep experience. It seems to be a product of decent quality that should hold up over time. I am content with my choice of the Avenco Queen Mattress. Each morning, I am prepared to return to it later. It is a reasonable investment for personal comfort.

I ordered a king. It was about 6 inches too short compared to the king I had and the one I just got to replace this one. The overall build quality of the bed seemed ok. The memory foam wasn’t very good as you can almost feel the springs. It was not at all comfortable for me or my wife (I’m 200Lbs and she’s 120Lbs). We both had the same issues with it as far as the feeling the springs and bot feeling rested after a night of sleep. Plus the added bit of back pain. I am a very heavy sleeper and she is a very light sleeper. She told me every single time I moved in the bed, I woke her up because the whole bed moved. We were coming from a memory foam mattress and wanted to try a hybrid. This was NOT, AT ALL a good move. This bed is very uncomfortable considering we like and are used to memory foam mattresses. It really doesn’t provide good support in our opinion. We returned it an got another memory foam mattresses and have been VERY happy with it. If you are coming from a memory foam mattress, do not buy a hybrid mattress. Stick with memory foam as this type of mattress is going to be a huge disappointment. On another note, Amazon’s return policy is excellent. Since this bed is sold and shipped by Amazon, the return is super convenient. They send a truck to your house during a scheduled time window and they take the mattress from you and that’s that. Kudos to Amazon for making the return process completely painless.

If soft is what you want, this would be great. Medium firm, but I'm 195 pounds, and sank into it (6") like it was a marshmallow. My back let me know it was absolutely not pleased in the first 5 minutes. Flipped the mattress and found the "bottom" was much more comfortable for sleeping, but suggest a mattress specifically made as firm, or extra firm, would be a better solution.

***edit*** I’m leaving my original review below but I’m changing to 4 stars because the seller went out of their way to get me replacement since I seem to have received a dud on the first try. *** original review **** Pros: it arrives very well shipped and is easy to set up. It’s affordable and the middle part is comfortable to sleep on. Cons: waited several days and it never expanded to full size. It is several inches smaller at the base than the pillow top. It’s almost like it’s missing an entire row of springs. Because of this it doesn’t take up the full space of the bed frame AND it sinks in if you sit at the edge it just collapses at the ends.
