I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of “box beds” as they are almost never what they claim they are(in my experience). So far, this one has checked most if not all my boxes. I’ll start off with the negatives first (although they are minor imo) The bed didn’t fully expand to the full 12”. It only rose to 11” which isn’t far off and didn’t bother me all that much, but i know it might bother others. The second thing is that there were small “humps” in the cover once the bed expanded all it was going to expand. It almost looks like the cover separated from the layer beneath it, but I’m not sure. Again, this is a minor thing for me as they humps pretty much go away once you have a cover or mattress protector on it, but i know this may bother some. As for the good, the mattress is really comfortable and offers a good amount of support, which is important to me as a heavier set guy, as too soft of a mattress and not enough support hurts my back. it has helped to alleviate some of that back pain. the mattress does feel a little softer than a traditional medium-firm memory foam mattress, but I’m thinking that’s because I’m still used to a foam mattress and not a hybrid. I think this bed will feel firmer the more i sleep and get used to it. The quality of my sleep has improved drastically, I’m no longer waking up in the middle of the night or tossing and turning trying to get to sleep. This bed sleeps cool and comfortable I’ve heard people say that using the steam from an iron may help to expand the foam more, may try that later but we’ll see. So far, I’m pretty happy with this bed and I’m thinking it was a good buy. I may update this review later on if my opinion changes for better or worse. ... show more

I spent weeks reading reviews and researching to find a mattress that would give me the support I needed for my wonky back while still being soft enough for side sleeping. Comfort wise, I'm very happy with this mattress. I am no longer waking up in pain. I wish that was the end of my review. Just a few weeks into sleeping on the mattress, I started to notice it had bunched up strangely in the middle-my best guess is that the foam top is bunching up but since it's also sewn down, it doesn't flatten/stretch back out. It's not a huge thing by any means, but for a brand new mattress, I wanted it to lay flat, at least for longer than a month or two! I contacted Amazon customer service, who told me that I couldn't get a replacement, I could return mine and reorder. On top of that just being a huge pain to have to deal with, I placed my original order on Prime Day, so the price I would have to pay would be much higher than my original price. Eventually Amazon told me to contact the manufacturer, and after some back and forth with Avenco, I was told that ultimately Amazon was responsible for the product. Back with Amazon, I was still told I cannot get a replacement, etc. I eventually settled for a full refund without returning the product; I didn't appear to have a better option. I am grateful for that at least, however, I still have a bumpy mattress and will have to decide how to proceed. Again, I'm overall happy with the mattress, but it has been a huge headache having to deal with this issue, so I'm hoping someone else can learn from my experience! ... show more

Background: I used this product to replace my 12 year old regular mattress that had started to lose its shape from daily use. This is the first time I decided to try out the mattress in a box concept and so far I am impressed with how well priced it was for the comfort level that it provides. At first I was hesitant to move to a firm level mattress thinking it would be too firm given my previous mattress was a plush level. Experience: After trying out this new hybrid mattress, I am glad I switched over because it really is medium firm in that it is not too firm nor is it on the plush side. Although it is heavy in weight, given that it was vacuum packed, it was still simple to move upstairs with 2 people to the bedroom whereas a traditional king size would have been very difficult to transport up the steps and around the tight corners. Upon arriving to the bedroom and opening the seal, the mattress quickly became its full size and took its shape. Due to the vacuum seal, I was also worried that there would be some corner areas on the mattress that would not retain its intended shape but fortunately that is not the case. I wanted a mattress that will hold up and based on the thickness of this mattress, it seems that it is durable and will last me several years. Additional thoughts: I would recommend this mattress to others that are looking for a comfortable medium firm mattress at a good value. When I was shopping around for a new mattress, I went to a few places and none of the mattresses with these specs and of this size were close to this price.
