I have a dog who is incredibly picky with sensitive stomach. I have done a ton of research on high quality human grade dog food (both kibbles and wet foods), and I’ve come a cross the Open Farm and Honest Kitchen brands. Ingredients are great for dog! It doesn’t contain any chemicals or unnecessary ingredients that could potentially harm the dog’s health. Open Farm offers so many different flavors. My dog seems to really like the grass-fed beef one the most. It smells amazing upon opening the package. The size of the kibbles are small, which is easier for my dog to swallow and digest! My chow chow’s thick coat appears to be healthier, soft, and shiny. He’s in a healthy weight range. However, it is on the expensive side, but it’s definitely worth it. He doesn’t throw up on this food - no stomach issues. His stools are soft but not watery. I’ll keep purchasing Open Farm products! Totally satisfied.

No digestive issues as I’ve read on other reviews. Switched my boy slowly from Instinct Frozen and use Smart Earth Camelina oil and he’s doing great. Very happy with ingredients except fish meal but so hard to avoid it. Love the humane sourcing, non GMO, and no antibiotics. The kibble is small so can be fed to small or large breeds. My boy is 90 pounds and he sure does scarf it down. Would recommend to friends but if worried about allergies, start with small bag to make sure your furbaby is good with it. That’s one reason I went with Turkey have never had allergies problems with it. Some dogs can be allergic to chicken so choose your main ingredient carefully. Also like the ancient grains rather than going grain free.

He really likes the taste. It is very expensive for a senior citizen even though my dog is only a 6lb Papillon. I wish there were coupons. He is old and the small size are easier for him to chew.

My usual dog food (Taste of the Wild with Ancient Grain) had temporarily gone off the online market so I was looking for a replacement. This bag is about 6 pounds lighter and $30 more expensive but seemed to have a similar ingredient profile (my vet advises against grain free). My dogs seem to like it well enough, although wow their breath packs a punch after dinner! It's worth looking into the rationale behind the signifiant price increase between the two brands, but overall I was happy with my purchase and so were the dogs.

Open Farm is 10/10 quality in all aspects. The storage and shipping practices for pet food at Amazon seem to be subpar. The kibble appeared crushed and powdery (never happened when ordering directly from Open Farm) and the wet food looked like it had melted and then been re-solidified. Great company, great ingredients, just order directly from them.

When I first adopted my girl Bodhi, I was told by the adoption agency and my vet to keep her on Purina. Was told it was the most regulated of all brands. Bodhi was ok with it but I had to add boiled chicken, carrots, other ingredients to make her interested in the food. Then I started going fresh. She did well on the fresh but it turned into a car payment the older she got. Went back to Purina but then they had some problems with owners blaming the food for their dogs getting sick so I stopped immediately and went on the hunt for a dry food I felt comfortable feeding her. I went down the rabbit hole researching dog food brands. So here is my review of the Alaskan caught Salmon. First off, this is the first dry I do not have to add other ingredients to. Bodhi just downed it the second I put it in her bowl which is a first! Next feeding I just put a bowl down and she did it again! She loves the food on its own! She is not a food crazed dog so it was really something. Her first 💩 was exactly the same texture as when i had her on the very expensive fresh food which according to vets is the perfect consistency so another win! I’m still new to this brand, will update as time goes on. As a beginner I purchased two 4 pound bags just to see. She loves the salmon, turkey is yet to be determined but regardless I will purchase the large bag of salmon for sure! Very happy 😊

My little, 4 year old Shih Tzu loves this kibble. I feel better feeding this to her, than some unspecified kibble made in China. The first bag I got for my dog was the Lamb and she really liked it. So this time I got her the Turkey , for a little variety, and she likes it just as much as the Lamb. I would recommend this food to anyone.
