I ordered these to replace ugly surface-mount fixtures that were in the house when purchased, specifically in laundry room, master bath, sewing room and workroom. My handyman took about an hour to replace all four and install dimmer switches, and now I can control light quality where I need it. If I'm working on complex projects I can light up exactly what works best, and if I want low light it takes just a touch. I was a little concerned that they'd look cheap, but no problem - they're virtually invisible against white ceilings. I am going to be using these as the basis for custom lighting on my home theater columns. I’ll be transferring custom cut vinyl logos onto them and painting the bezels black. They come apart very easy. They are full compatible with my Lutron Caseta dimmers and the price was unbeatable

Joseph P. likes to taut his "PHD in Engineering," I would just like to say that I have 30 years design design experience with several multimedia computer hardware products in my portfolio and even though I understand his frustrations, I found the panel to be an effective design and LED strips or sheets are common in these products. One thing that I noticed is its use of circular PCB (Printed Circuit Board) SMT (Surface Mounted Technology) in the middle about 2" wide that sends 94vdc to the LED strip. This is an odd voltage and leads me to believe this is series design, or parallel/series hybrid with a voltage that high to a SMT 2835 LED that normally has 3V forward voltage so in counting the number in a side, I came up with four strips of 32 LEDs. If this is the case, if one goes out, you would lose one whole string or side, reducing the light on that side. I have not tested this because I don't want to ruin my panel. It should also be noted that there is a SMT fuse on the PCB so if a short occurs, this will blow and cause the entire panel to go dark, which is better than the panel possibly heating up to a degree that might cause a fire (unlikely but better than being sorry and probably required for CSA certification, but not it is not UL certified - only identified as meeting UL) I personally like the glass diffusing panel since it also helps radiate heat better than plexiglass but is one of three layers: A white reflective backing, the 3mm glass panel and a thinner 1mm plexiglass on the outside. This provide a nice even illumination across the entire panel with no hot spots (light or heat). I did not measure lumens so I don't know how bright the panel is, but it can dimmed without noticeable flicker. My conclusion working with Chinese manufacturers is there is normally only a few manufacturers and several "packagers" who buy in bulk who may not be doing their due diligence and testing to decrease cost to market. Another concern is the SMT mounted PCB in the middle of the 12" panel without any heatsink. In saying that, I did not notice any excessively hot components after 12 hour period so my guess is the aluminum frame is adequate spreading the heat away from the PCB. The soldering is clean, and rubber like material is dabbed on to insulate the solder points for incoming AC and 94VDC output to the LED strip. The rest of the components are SMT wave soldered with a consistent layer of solder. Sadly, if you are buying based on price, you are always going to see increased failure since QC is the first thing that is cut back, betting on MTBF (Mean TIme Before Failure) and returns/refunds to justify their reasoning in this area. The old adage "You Get What You Pay For" probably applies here as well. My concern would be the series LED arrangement, but frankly if I am correct in just a side being lost.
