Beautifully made American product! Easy assembly, they even provided protective shipping caps on ends of parts that have to fit together. Works as advertised, easy to break down and store. Wish I had bought it years ago. Well worth the money!

    • Satisfying and Effective. Worth it.
Works great when there is no wind. The sound of the snow coming down is satisfying. When it was windy I had to stop because the tarp piece kept flipping around on me. After a clearing off the roof 5-6 times this winter there is some noticeable damage to the tarp piece, but I think I can get another season or two out of it. It does get floppy and heavier to use with the extension pieces but I am able to clear the roof of my cape cod up to the peak with extensions. Quality overall is good, though maybe a bit on the expensive side when you consider the components that make up the tool. It is worth it though. ... show more

These two items have worked amazingly well! The Avalanche 500 is ingenious and saved significant time and effort with its very first use. Finally had a chance to use! So much easier than a rake! Had 10" of snow on the roof took minutes to remove. Worst part was shoveling snow that fell away from the house!

Product worked great for about 10 min than broke in 3 different spots. Great concept just built with garbage materials. For the price should have held up better.

    • Well made and does the job!
Extremely well made. The unit is 20 foot long and almost reaches the top. We have solar panels on our roof and they neglected to tell us that solar panels don’t work when covered in snow. I’m 77 years old and luckily I can still do just about everything around the house. I used the rake today and it worked very well. I haven’t used the other half of the combo yet. The biggest problem I see is that if you are using it from the ground you can’t see what you are doing. You need a spotter. I decided and did order the 8 foot extension. With that, I am able to do all of my roof from the ground and won’t have to get on a ladder to reach the top of the panels. Unit is higher priced than the others I looked at. I looked at a rating on roof rakes (I think it was Consumer Report). The Avalanche was rated number one! Also, it’s made in the USA!!! ... show more

    • Avalanche Snow Roof Rake
This rake works well if the snow is light and powdery. If the snow is wet or heavy, it won't work well. Also, the long handle tends to make handling the rake very difficult. I wish the handle would be telescopic so you can adjust it. Other than that, it works well.
