What cat litter should I use? We know that the litter box filters out clumping litter and retains it, so we recommend granular clumping litter rather than strips (strips or clumps won't pass through the filter). Why does the litter box make a mess inside after spinning? Due to the type of litter, some cat litters are slow to clump, which can cause a mess if the litter box starts to spin. We recommend setting the cleanup time to 5-15 minutes after the cat comes out (you can set this in the mobile app). Why has my litter box started spinning on its own and won't stop? When powered on initially, the device undergoes a 1 to 3-minute self-test. In addition, the litter box must be placed on a hard and flat ground. Do not place a blanket under it, which will cause the litter box to rotate abnormally.

This litter box is super easy to set up and use. My three cats love it and so do I. I’ve had it for about two weeks now and I don’t know what I would do without it. It’s very easy to clean the bags and tells you when it needs to be changed. My cats love how covered it is. Because of how fast it cleans, it keeps my dog out of the litter box. All of my cats are on the smaller size and they fit in it very well. It isn’t the quietest but it’s not so loud the it interrupts conversations or sleep. Seems to be made of super high quality which makes me happy. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this litter box and when my other litter box goes belly up, I’ll replace it with this one. ... show more

I have been raving about this litter box since I purchased it. It’s very easy to set up and connect to your phone. Straightforward instructions. My cat instantly used it and has continued to use it with no issues. I especially like the scent boosters. I struggle with mental health issues so sometimes cleaning regular litter boxes daily is tasking, so this litter box has helped me immensely. I strongly recommend this product to those who are disabled, struggle with mental illness, or those who simply could use the convenience of an automatic litter box. 10/10 ... show more

The gel pack included goes inside of the drum where there is a small circular plastic cap which you can pull off and shove the gel pack into and recover )not mentioned in the instructions). My cat loves it and I love that for her, but I am sweeping more litter from the floor after it auto cleans than when I just had a regular litter box. The litter falls out from where the edges of the lining are (I didn’t take it out so no room for user error), and ends up under the actual machine as well as on the sides were there is no opening at all. Really want to love this but it’s day 2 and I have swept up litter 5 times since I unboxed it yesterday at 4 pm. Odor control is a 3 out of 5 since it cleans automatically however the gel scent is untraceable after the “fresh” mode. I have a small chunky kitty and she fits well but box doesn’t seem XL. Over all it’s okay but needs improvement. Update: a month later and this box is almost my albatross. Pee leaks out from the soft pad litter is supposed to sit in. “Supposed” to because all of the clean litter falls out from the bottom so it’s a big waste of money on litter plus pee pads in case the box fails to do its job. OK, honest review I have had a meowant self cleaning litter box prior to this one. I have actually had two the motor just crapped out on the second one. I got this litter box for a change of pace and for newer upgrades this litter box has not disappointed, just be aware when you attach the trashcan liner to catch the litter. It is a magnetic closure, the only gripe I have is that the app does not let you add more than one cat. It does give you weight when they approach the litter box when they exit the litter box how long the duration of them going to the bathroom, you can clean remote from the app you can deodorize from the app if that’s something you’re into. Odor control is very good again I have two cats. I have not smelled the litter box yet and I have owned it for about five days so I have not cleaned it out yet. The size has been good. I have a 13 pound cat and a 12 pound cat and both have used it without any issues. I also do not have litter everywhere like I did with the meowant. Very easy to set up and the directions are pretty straightforward. OK, so make sure when you hit the clean button on the front of the box that you either empty out some of the litter or make sure that some of the litter OK most of the litter is out of it it will turn complete rotation to empty all the litter out of the litter box into the trashcan. I did not do this. The first time I ended up with litter on the floor trash bag is easy to empty and easy to replace. However, I do find that I’m having to clean the trap door every time I change the plastic bag because that’s what the crap rolls over. Just wanted to add this as a sidenote and also make sure the barrel is locked in on the motor side and the lock is completely down over the gearing and barrel mechanism. You’ll understand once you look to see what I’m talking about or if it happens to you . If you do not lock the barrel, it will wake you up at 2 o’clock in the morning after your cat uses the bathroom and sound like your room is coming apart because you didn’t lock it, and it will scare the crap out of you and your cats because you can’t figure out what’s going on. This is my first litter robot, and it’s been good so far. Still trying to figure out what can and can’t be taken apart to deep clean. I have to deep clean every month or else it starts to smell like cat urine. Is that normal, in a household with 2 cats?

With everything going on between kids, dogs, and work, this litter box has honestly been one of the best purchases for keeping up with cat care without it becoming another daily chore. Self-cleaning function works well — waste gets sorted out automatically, and odor control is noticeably better than a traditional box since it’s not sitting there all day. Our cat adjusted to it quickly, no hesitation or refusal to use it like I worried might happen with an automatic model. App notifications (if equipped) are a nice touch, lets me know when the waste bin needs emptying instead of guessing. Quiet operation too, doesn’t spook her mid-use. These bags are not wide enough for the automatic cat litter box I have misinformed on website the string is not long enough to tie it where it stays tight
