The media could not be loaded. Avoid the headache of this chicken coop door. It seemed like a great idea to save some money and the reviews were decent. We decided to try it but I would not recommend it for a lot of reasons. Installing was not easy. The door had no instructions on how big to cut a hole to fit the door onto your coop. We had to come up with a way to measure and cut a hole big enough to install. Two weeks into using this door the garage door has completely stopped working. It will only open and close 3/4 of the way. Some mornings it wouldn't open at all. We found ourselves going out every morning and evening to check to see if it "worked" which defeats the whole purpose of an automatic chicken door. We tried troubleshooting by powering the door down, manually pushing the open/close buttons, and trying the remote to get the door to respond. Nothing has seemed to help. The remote would not work unless standing 2 feet away from the door. They claim the remote has a 100ft range, which is inaccurate. The dawn-to-dusk feature seemed finicky. It felt that it closed too early and we always had a few birds stuck outside.

Firstly the edges of the control unit are terrible. Not nearly square but with bevels instead of corners. This makes install a real pain. Don't use the measurements in the instructions, they will lead you astray. The door itself works wonderfully once you interpret the instructions. Overall door is great, nice little roll up door with a solid lock.

This little door works flawlessly. I have 3 ducks who insist on being let out at daybreak but on weekends I don't want to set my alarm for 6 a.m! They have a large enclosure and their coop is inside of that so once the door opens they can get out to eat and drink safely until I get up. This door is large enuf for my hefty girls to go thru, they just have to drop their heads a bit and scoot right thru. Only took them a day to figure it out. So glad I bought it! Worth every cent to be able to sleep in a little!

This chicken door works well and I like the automatic feature. After learning what time my chickens go back in to coop, I updated the automatic timer to close a bit past the time they usually go in. I no longer have to chase them in and feel good that they are safe at night. It also opens automatically in the morning so I don’t have to go let them out. The size is just right for our chickens and the black/white matches the coop well. One concern I had before buying was that the area where I needed to install it is partially shaded. I was concerned that the battery would not charge because of lack of sun, but it charges just fine. Overall, this was a good value. The build feels sturdy and should last a long time.

We installed this door in May to the manufacturer's specifications using the guide on how large of an opening to create so the door fit like a glove. Everything worked for a few weeks. Then the door started to only open half way. Followed the video tips for "If your door only opens part of the way..." and this did not solve the problem, in fact, it doesn't open at all now. Our door gets full sun so it isn't a charge issue. The up function tries to work but doesn't catch and "down" function there is no response. Door is clean and sturdy so our hopes were high but to have the board fail like this is such a letdown. Disappointed. We paid $86 for a paper weight and would like our money back, please.
