This is a must for any chicken hobbyist/farmer who wants to safely lock out overnight predators without ever thinking about it again. Imagine having the door automatically close after your chicken babies have returned themselves to their roost. You don't have to be at home to do it, it just happens based on what you've configured! This simplifies the life of a chicken owner. Because it was affordable, I was expecting plastic parts that wouldn't last long. I was wrong. The door and frame is made of light metal - much heavier than other pet doors. The motor to open and close seems to be plenty powerful to do the job. If any thing or chicken gets in the way of a closing door, it will sense and reverse back to open for safety. The sensor seems to be based on movement or object awareness.... it senses without having to touch or press on the object. I believe it will attempt to close again 60 seconds later but I have not had that need yet. The door can be set to open and close based on the time of day (one for opening and one for closing), light sensor (amount of light in lumens), or a mix of these (ie: light sensor opens in AM and time of day closes at night, etc). It also has a remote control fob to open and close remotely if you want. I believe the remote is rated to a distance of 40 meters. Surprisingly the instructions are pretty good. This seems to be a rare quality of newer tech items. It requires power and comes with a power adapter, but can be hooked to a small solar panel or use batteries. I'm guessing it might burn thru batteries regularly if that is the only power source. The only disappointment I had was that the battery for the remote is not included - and it is not a normal battery that you already have. In fact, even department stores in my area didn't have it. I eventually found it at auto parts stores. The battery is an A27 12volt. If you want to use the remote on day one, be sure to order that battery ahead of time. Overall, this is a great find. I would expect it to be much more expensive based on the quality and features. In reality, this could be used for many other types of pets (as long as they fit thru the door.....). If you are manually walking to the coop to lock them up each night and let them out in the morning this is a game changer for you. I strongly recommend it.

We are pleased with the CEED4U Automatic Chicken Coop Door except for the remote control. It not only took a long time to set up, but it required a special battery which they did not include. The battery was not expensive, but I had to order it and wait for it to arrive. When I ordered the door, it cost $109.99 and they have now reduced it to $69.99 so they could easily have included the inexpensive battery! Once we got it set up, the remote wasn't handy to use. Unless we were directly in front of it, it didn't work!! So, we have to get up out of our chairs to use the remote. A remote is supposed to make it easier to use, not make extra work! If you want a good door for your chicken coop, this is it, but if you want a good remote, you should shop elsewhere.

This automatic chicken coop door is perfect for our coop! Installation and programming were a breeze, definitely easier than other doors we've used in the past. Big plus for including a fob remote – so convenient for opening and closing the coop on the go. Here's what I liked: - Simple Setup: Had it up and running in no time. Programming is straightforward. - Fob Remote Convenience: It's nice to be able to use the fob to open or close the door outside of its normal schedule, for example when I want to keep the hens out of the hen house while I clean it out. A couple of minor nits: - Missing Battery: A little disappointed that the fob battery isn't included, especially since it's a size most people don't have on hand (A27 12V). Would have been nice to have everything ready to go right out of the box. To be fair, the manual states the battery is not included. - Useless Screwdrivers: Not sure why the tiny screwdrivers are included. They are completely irrelevant to the product. Initially I thought it might be for the fob battery enclosure, but there isn't a screw. Just a bit of extra clutter in the packaging.

This automatic chicken coop door is perfect and it is exactly what I need! It will make life so much easier for me and my "Peeps"; my chickens...It will keep my hens and pullets perfectly safe too. It is very well made and made from heavy duty quality materials and I love the fact that this door will never close or harm the chickens because of the wonderful safety features. Since it is very well made and is very sturdy this coop door will last for a very long time and will provide us with many years of protection, service and convenience. I only wish I would have gotten it a year ago but I am just thankful that I found it and that I have it now! It is easy to install and it doesn't take long at all and not only that but it looks great too! The coop door was shipped lightning fast and was very well packaged. I highly recommend this automatic chicken door to everyone that owns chickens and I am giving it a rating of 10 Stars plus!

I purchased this automatic chicken coop door for my chicken's home. The assembly was simple and quick. The instructions we clear to follow. The materials are strong, weatherproof, and sturdy. I like that you can program the door to open and close and how fast or slow you want it. It serves as great protection for my chickens at night as well. The quality is amazing for the price.
