Using this for some plate armor blacksmithing work. Has been working great to smooth out hammer blow marks on 16g steel. I'm using it with the armor in a dishing bowl stump and keeping the face of the hammer engaged on the metal all the time as best as I can and just working it around in a spiral pattern.     • smoothing hammer bit
Its thin flat head makes it ideal for smoothing/shaping metal, but make SURE your compressor can do at least 5CFM (or more) at 90psi. I made mistake at first of using a small 'pancake' compressor; it bobbled up and down on the metal with no effect. I am using this with Ingersoll Rand 117K airhammer.

The hammer had a point in the center. I gently ground it down with a fine sand paper disc. It's fine now.
