  • It works but.......
Pro : 1. Large enough for bag of cereal and chips. 2. Does keep a vacuum seal 3. Inexpensive by comparison. Con : 1. Just an accidental brush to the lid will release the vacuum. 2. No indication light to indicate the loss of vacuum 3. Need to press down on lid when initiating vacuuming or else it will take forever for the pump to stop. Conclusion : For the price, it's a good buy. ... show more

  • The vacuum function works quite well. I just wish the capacity were slightly greater
It doesn't quite fit 20 pounds of flour, which my other container purporting to be 8 liters does. Puzzling. And frustrating, since I buy flour at Costco and it comes in two 10# sacks. I really prefer to dump both into a container upon buying them, as I have had trouble with pantry moths. I guess I need a 10 liter bin. The vacuum sealing function works quite well, although it is a tiny bit noisy. Really though, you only hear the noise when you're in the kitchen. I walked away and didn't hear it from the other room. I tested the lid by trying to pull it off after it sealed, and I couldn't remove it without hitting the release button. I do wish it sealed a little tighter without using the vacuum seal, as there are days upon which I do a lot of baking, and I don't want to seal it every time I use it. I do want to be sure not to get any bugs in my flour though. I've had too many problems. If you don't hit the button to seal it, the lid just sits on top. ... show more

  • When it is good it is very very good.... but when it is bad....
I am having a bit of a love hate relationship with this product - mostly on the love side but concerned that it gives me reason to hate it on occasion. The short summary would be that it usually works but I wouldn't trust it with anything that absolutely needs a vacuum seal. First off, battery needs a good charge to work - it's not an item that can be used up until the battery dies. If it doesn't have enough "omph" it just won't seal. Second, you need to press pretty firmly into the middle of this while evacuating the air. At that point, you need to check it every day for a week to see what happens. 75% of the time your seal will stay super tight. But the other 25% of the time? It will mysteriously dissipate. I haven't found a rhyme or reason to why it does this when it does. When it works I love the size. I normally use 1/2-gallon mason jars, but this is much larger! When it doesn't work, however, the seal is nothing to write home about. So you're in a weird position where you want to use it with products that really should have a vacuum seal, but you also want to be safe and use it with products that will be fine with a minimal seal. That said it's a fairly unique offering and useful - so I don't NOT recommend it, but I do recommend that you check on the seal for the first week (if it stays that long it seems to stay after that....) - I would not recommend for something being opened daily. ... show more

  • Noisy
I'm not due if I'm doing something wrong, but I'll seal this and put it into the cabinet. A few minutes later I hear it running again. It does this repeatedly. When the house is quiet I can hear it from 3 rooms away. I'm just not sore I'm going to keep using it long term.

  • it works! make sure the lid is TIGHT though
This works great for storing your grains! I have several types of rice, so I put the rice in ziplock bags and this did work to vacuum out the extra air! The charging port is on the side of the lid. You just press the button on the top to vacuum seal or release. BE SURE to press the word. While it looks like one button on the top, you will want to push the left side right onto of the word "Vacuum" to start the vacuum seal process. Press the word "release" to start that process. Lastly, make sure to read the instructions to know what light means what. Once you know that, you're golden! OH-- and make sure the lid is on TIGHT. I had to really press it down in order for it to work. Hope that helps!! I do recommend it if you wanna keep bugs out of your rice and stored grains! ... show more

  • A Little Noisy - Airtight Doesn't Equal Oxygen Free
The media could not be loaded. For some reason I equated vacuum sealing with the removal of oxygen, however this does not remove all oxygen from the container. I was able to store a quite a bit about 3 (5lbs) bags of bread flour. What I didn't count on or realize is that every five minutes or so this will turn on and reseal which can be a bit noisy and annoying. This is my first experience with a container like this so I didn't know what to expect. I guess this a good and bad thing but I really expected to seal it once and be done. Although it automatically does the resealing it just the additional noise consistently that is bothersome. I stored mine in a pantry closet and I can still hear it while lying in bed. This also means I am going to have to charge it more often than I anticipated. So far the battery is lasting so I am not sure how often I'll have to check it. I also can't comment on food freshness yet because it's been less than a month but I will update with any issues. The seal does seem to be airtight as I am able to lift from the lid and it doesn't open. Also as a note the top buttons are sensitive to touch and you can't really store anything on top of it. Also it's easy to unseal when carrying especially when setting down. It can be fairly heavy to carry depending upon what you are storing. The fabric handle seem to tolerate weight well though. ... show more

  • Works as stated. Is very large, good for flour, sugar, etc..
I like the style and love the size. It holds 7 liters or about 10 pounds of dry goods like flour, sugar, brown sugar etc... I like that it didn't take long to charge the lid and that it worked well. I first tested it on marshmallows, before using for brown sugar, so far keeping it soft. I didn't like the lack of detailed directions. The lid can go on incorrectly and not be noticed. It seems to fit like it should, but wouldn't actually vacuum seal. It took a few minutes of checking it over to determine the side with the charger port needs to be either facing the back or front of the container to be on properly and to actually seal. Once that was figured out, it sealed like it was supposed to and stayed sealed until I released it. It works really well. I might get a few more for flour and sugar, etc. ... show more

  • Make sure you press on the lid when vacuuming it
Mine does not vacuum seal unless I press the lid and hold for a few seconds. Also it randomly turns on to vacuum seal during the day.
