This code reader worked on two of our vehicles. Found a lot of misfire related codes on a 2001 Honda CRV that we've recently gotten back from a repair shop. I was able to clear the codes and now we will see if the codes reappear after we've driven the car for a while. I was also about to connect it to our 2010 GMC Sierra HD which has no codes but the code reader was able to communicate with the truck. It’s easy to use and it’s convenient to have so if you find out what the problem is with your car or truck, you can make sure you don’t get ripped off by any rogue mechanic. I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra and using this scan tool assured me that I can definitely pass a smog check test. If the check engine light should turn on, I can plug-in this scan tool to find out the problem code or codes. You can look up the definition of problem codes on the Internet with your smart phone or home computer. I like that I can even turn off the check engine light with this tool. Also, if you don’t have this scan tool, some places like a dealership or service center are known to charge $90 to $100, for them to use their scan tool to find out any problem codes. ... show more

Basically bought this to read and clear some engine codes. Can also check trans codes, check to see if car is going to pass emissions test, and a lot of real-time info is avail also. You get a lot for around $60

Plenty of features, easy to use. However, I need a course in auto mechanics to use all the features this tool offers. I am a novice at car diagnostics and the info is overwhelming. There is an extensive help feature, however, one needs to know what to do with the information that the tool can provide. The tool can store and print data from the computer in the vehicle, identify the VIN and make of the vehicle, and provide a quick and easy check to see if the vehicle can pass a smog test. With a windows computer one can download the latest code data from the support web site. As I said it is definitely worth the money. ... show more

I got a Ford F350. I get a message that the vehicle is not compatible... really ! It can't even read the most basic info about the vehicle, much less to pull any codes. I definitely would not recommend this product
