This is an excellent entry level bi-directional scanner. Been using it over a year and it has performed well above my expectations. My only real complaints are 1) can't change some of the measurement units (example you can't switch mass air flow measurement to grams per second 2) the touch screen isn't the most responsive. One bit of advice I will offer is to look into the cost of updates. The price grows quickly as you go up and scanner model number. Just from the MP808 to the MP808 Bluetooth the price goes from $300 to 450$ for updates ... show more

    • So far so good. Worth the money
I got this to diagnose an engine light on my 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid because taking it to the dealership is always a ripoff and I don’t trust them anymore. Updates are extremely important and quite frequent which I think is a good thing. The interface is a little clunky being android and there is a learning curve on exactly what you can and can’t do with a particular vehicle. But overall I am extremely happy with this. This comes with a 1 year subscription for the updates. I bought another year so it is good for two years. It is pricey ($349.00) but I think it is worth it being informed before calling the dealership. I’ve tried this on the Hyundai and a 2018 F250 Powerstroke. Lots of information and options to see and use for that one too. I drive a lot so this has become an invaluable maintenance tool for me. ... show more

Only used a few times. Has been amazing each time. Scanned my friends car and was even able to send them a text pdf of everything it scanned and found all tied to there VIN, very Slick.

I am very pleased overall with everything about te MP808. The case is supper sturdy, everything is secured properly. The tablet is sturdy and over-molded to survive the garage. The software from Autel is actually quite good and intuitive. The upgrade process is smooth. I am using this on a 2015 Dodge Durango and 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokees and a 2014 Chevy Volt. All of the extended service functions work great, like ABS bleed, TCM adaptive resets, etc. I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

I bought this scanner as an alternative to the much more expensive Snap-Om, Matco, etc. scan tools. I have used this scanner for a couple weeks now and can honestly say I am more than impressed with this thing. It does everything I need it to and more. Autel makes great products and has great support. I already had the ts508 and a few questions. They followed up within minutes. That's why I went for this one. I wanted a scanner that wasn't too pricey (didn't care about wireless) and had everything a do it yourself would want (especially the bidirectional control). The scanner comes in a nice case, od2 connector, and charger. In the photos it was hooked to my wj looking for tps sensor spiking high. Nice graphing capability with recording (so I could tug on wires then review the data). My only complaint so far is it doesn't charge off the obd2 connection. Autel is a Chinese company 100% and good luck getting into contact with them should you need too. This product was sold with 1 year of updates included in the purchase price starting from the date you activated it. Their website is terrible and just leads you in circles getting nowhere. Now it leaves me wondering if this scanner will drop dead on 12-7-2020 ? Updated for 2021: DO NOT BUY. It should be plainly spelled out in the product information that this device is a subscription based service. I understand paying for updates after one year if you need or desire to keep it current with the latest data as it comes out. What is not made at all clear is that this device will drop dead if it does not have an active subscription. Absolutely NOWHERE is that mentioned. Your buying a subscription at $350/year just to keep the device active. ... show more

    • Not perfect but incredible value for the money!
It's not a perfect product, It runs on 10 year old Android 4.4, is sometimes slow to work through the menus with repetitive "Establishing communication" sessions, and wasn't able to do a couple things I tried with it like read ABS codes from my 1998 Toyota Rav4. That being said when you compare it to professional diagnostic tools that cost 10x as much I think you'd have a real hard time finding reasons not to buy this. It offers so much functionality and broad compatibility with makes and models from all over the world, and does so at a price point that doesn't require a mortgage to afford it. Software is constantly being updated and the yearly subscription, while a significant amount of money, is pennies on the dollar compared to the other high price scan tools. All in all the best pound for pound diagnostic tool I've found as a hobbyist car enthusiast, and all of my professional mechanic buddies agree. ... show more
