I’ve had an abs issue on my 07 charger for some time, and needed to initialize a new abs module. I’ve had several people offer their code readers assuring me it would be the one to do the trick. Finally I decided it was time to bite the bullet and get my own. I contacted AutelUS@outlook.com giving them the VIN and what I needed to do, they recommended the mx808. I really didn’t want to spend that type of money but if it could fix the issue, and was a good tool that I can use for other automotive issues then I was willing to spend the money and get a good reader. After installing updates and initial setup, I hooked it up to the car, found the procedure in the menu and performed the procedure which finally finished fixing my ABS issue. It was easy to use, has more features than any reader I’ve ever owned and just overall has a nice feel to it. I was able to connect to my fiancés car and do some tests to identify some issues we’ve been chasing on hers. Really good tool, highly recommend ... show more

I took a little while to get used to all the different functions, but it does everything I need as a casual mechanic. I purchased it since it is the same model that my professional mechanic friend uses. The cord is very heavy duty and long enough, the box itself is very sturdy And not too heavy.     • Great tool for the money!
I have been using a FoxwellNT530 to do basic maintenance on a F30, two Fords and an E46. It worked but was really slow, the translation isn't very good, no wifi update and it only came with BMW loaded, making me pay to add Ford and a couple more makes for $75 a piece. The MX808S is color, touchscreen, has wifi, came with every make, and has interactive instructions to help you complete difficult repairs. They do charge a yearly subscription for the updates but the first year is free and well worth it. So simple to update, no hooking it up to a computer and dealing with a website. It comes with a really nice case, cables and charger. I sent the instructions PDF file to Staples and had them print me out a spiral bound manual. It's the only thing I wish it would have came with. Great scanner that's made my life much easier. Im not the worlds best mechanic by any means, but this scanner coupled with the internet and Youtube has made so many different types of fixes and repairs possible. Im not as overwhelmed anymore as I used to be when a problem or noise occured. Ive always owned older and used vehicles and now that Im getting cars from 2010+ and up, every vehicle that im now own have tons of these sensors and complex Ecu's so these type of, better quality and in depth scanners, are a must have nowadays. Im really enjoying this unit so far. Its actually pretty easy to use too. Im giving this MX808 5 stars. At the time of purchase, I also received a free scope( snake type) that hooks into the scanner. Awesome little gadget to get to see into small spaces or to check on anything that's not easily accessible. Both great products! ... show more

    • MX808 is the best for U.S. support and features. Love the price for what it can do!
this thing is a beast. i initially bought a lesser brand... needless to say that was a mistake. the artidiag800bt was an epic failure... this thing is fast. has twice the memory for updates. and is bidirectional with quick auto vin detection. Couldnt even get the artidiag to connect to modern ford or gm vehicles. On the other hand. this MX808 can do everything i need. do be fooled by others claiming ecu,tpms, and other coding functions.....those are premiums only on high end devices for U.S. vehicles. The MX808 is the prefect balance of features for the price. i like that it IS NOT BLUETOOTH as it connects and streams live data much more smoothly via the obd2 cable.... TIP...if you dont like the thick cable, grab an autel vcimini adapter and you can use a long mini usb cable that is much more flexible and allows you to work under the hood and still view the scanner. I prefer cables..... ethernet vs wifi concept. a wired scan tool is much more reliable when doing sensitive tasks, and the OBD2 cord will power the unit but not charge the battery. Some reviews are negative saying it needs to be charged to use.....that is not true. if the 12v power at your obd2 port is present it will power the mx808.... it will not charge it.... but that can be done later via any usb port. Super fast shipping the item to me and everything was exactly as described on the sellers page. ... show more

It was a plug and play until I attempted to update the unit and it says I need to back up the files...OK how the heck do you do that? I am now reading the manual. It won't read anything newer then 2014, and I figure that's because it needs to be updated. Once I figure out how to back up the file before downloading the update, I will update my review. Main reason I purchased this unit, was to put my 2023 Honda Civic into maintenance mode for the electronic parking brake. It worked great! Also pulled codes from another vehicle that my old scanner didn’t. The Wi-Fi updating is a great feature also and worked flawlessly. Autel customer service also seems great. I definitely recommend this unit for anyone in the market for a nice scanner to add to their toolbox. ... show more
