  • Powerful electric bike
Color: Blue
The media could not be loaded. This is a well-made electric bike. The controller is quick, and the PAS system provides smooth acceleration. I took this on a weekend ten mile single track with plenty of roots, boulders, gravel and mud. At the end, the bike had full bars and 50v on the gauge. I had plenty of pull to climb the hills and rocks. The head light is super bright. Its come with a 750W so this electric bike is powerful and it does hav some torque. Withe the fat tires it can be used on all terrains. I am impressed with how it can handle on all terrains. This electric bike for adults is equipped with a 750W high-speed brushless motor, which provides a powerful driving force in acceleration and hill climbing with a top speed of 30mph and a torque of 62Nm, allowing it to face the most harsh terrain, such as a beach, mountain, and snow field. The updated 48V 12.8Ah LG waterproof battery, which is precisely disguised in the frame to protect the safety of the electrical system during aggressive riding, can also give a ride range of 24-35miles in electric mode and 35-48miles in PAS mode; combining the two modes would be a better choice. Three riding modes are simply selectable. The electric e bikes for adults have an all-terrain front suspension fork and a 760-pound adjustable shock absorber. Reduce the strength and pressure on your legs according to the road conditions. Together with the front and rear mechanical disc brakes, it provides dependable braking force and enough stopping strength on steep descents, rough roads, and other harsh conditions. This electric bike is lightweight but durable aluminum alloy frame of the fat tires electric bike may be swiftly folded and placed in the trunk or storage. I can choose the aid level from 1 to 5 to reduce or enhance the speed assistance. At a glance, the display provides information about the speed, battery output voltage and capacity status, and cumulative kilometers. -3 Working Modes -Pure Electric Mode: When you twist the throttle on the right handlebar, the bike will be powered by the battery. -Pedal Assisted Mode When you ride it, the motor instantly starts operating. Turn on the power button and start riding; the bike will aid you in sustaining that pace without touching the throttle. -Normal Bike Mode Ride it like a regular bike without turning on the motor to get a terrific exercise. The 20" foldable electric bike has a 750W high-speed brushless motor that can reach speeds of 28-30 MPH, which is rather fast. That's more than enough juice for your daily commute, a mountain cruise, or a stroll down your favorite route. When riding this e-bike, the engine is also silent. This ebike is equipped with a 48V 12.8Ah LG Lithium battery and a key lock mounted to the frame. You may charge the battery either on or off the ebike. It takes 5 hours to completely charge and can travel 28-38 miles in pas mode, depending on your riding style and weight. Please keep in mind that the two included keys are solely for locking the battery, not shutting off the electricity. This electric bike's 7-speed professional transmission technology gives more flexibility to varied terrains. My riding experience will be dependable and smooth thanks to the twin disc braking system. It has a lot of stopping power, especially on long and steep hills or in bad weather. When riding at night, the design of LED front and rear lights helps me to see the road ahead clearly, making it safer and clearer. When you brake, the tail lights will illuminate individually to alert people behind my to your brakes. The 750 LBS mid-mounted shock absorber is only available on high-end versions and allows me to ride more comfortably. In comparison to a standard non-shock absorbing fork, the lockable aluminum suspension fork offers a superb smooth ride that gracefully tackles bumps, pebbles, and uneven terrain. A strong front suspension fork can improve my riding comfort. This thick tire absorbs shock and makes cycling more pleasant. It can handle a variety of road conditions, including uphill and downhill, slow and consistent speed, and acceleration. Differences Between Brushed and Brushless Motors When it comes to the motor types typically found in electric bikes and conversion kits alike, they fall into one of two categories. Brushed DC motors use a configuration of wound wire coil to interact with electromagnets and the motor itself. The coil does not rotate, but the brushes come into contact with the electromagnetic regularly, which are the primary differences from a brushed DC motor. Brushed DC motors, otherwise known as a BLDC motors, use a permanent magnet to reach a similar result as a brushless motor. The coil rotates to meet this magnet, but there is no physical contact otherwise. This leads to a number of performance differences, which are slightly in line with when you compare direct drive vs a geared motor with electric bikes. A brushed DC motor uses a configuration of wound wire coils- the armature- acting as a two-pole electromagnet. When the motor is working, the coil and the commutator (a mechanical rotary switch) rotate, the permanent magnets and the brushes do not rotate, and the current direction change of the coil is completed by the commutator and the brush. When the current direction of the coil change, the electromagnet’s poles are changed and push against the permanent magnets along the outside of the motor. This contact of brushes and commutator wears the brushes that these brushes have to be replaced regularly. This replacement is not so expensive but to manage this work itself is not so easy. A brushless motor utilizes a permanent magnet as its external rotor or internal rotor. In addition, it uses three phases of driving coils and three hall sensors to track the rotor position. When the sensor tracks the rotor position, it sends out reference signals to the controller. Then the controller activates the coils in a structured way – one phase after the other. The brushless motor adopts electronic commutation, the coil does not move, and the magnetic pole rotates. As there is no physical contact from any parts of the motor inside, therefore there is virtually no wear and tear possibilities, making the motor’s durability limitless. These motors require sophisticated controllers, and it makes it possible for using three different windings, and power is supplied by individual windings according to the position they are in the movement. When the motor passes one winding, the controller passes the power to another winding, making the movement to continue without stopping. Brushless solution In brushless DC motors, an electronic servo system replaces the mechanical commutator contacts. An electronic sensor detects the angle of the rotor and controls semiconductor switches such as transistors which switch current through the windings, either reversing the direction of the current or, in some motors turning it off, at the correct angle so the electromagnets create torque in one direction. The elimination of the sliding contact allows brushless motors to have less friction and longer life; their working life is only limited by the lifetime of their bearings. Brushed DC motors develop a maximum torque when stationary, linearly decreasing as velocity increases. Some limitations of brushed motors can be overcome by brushless motors; they include higher efficiency and lower susceptibility to mechanical wear. These benefits come at the cost of potentially less rugged, more complex, and more expensive control electronics. A typical brushless motor has permanent magnets that rotate around a fixed armature, eliminating problems associated with connecting current to the moving armature. An electronic controller replaces the commutator assembly of the brushed DC motor, which continually switches the phase to the windings to keep the motor turning. The controller performs similar timed power distribution by using a solid-state circuit rather than the commutator system. Brushless motors offer several advantages over brushed DC motors, including high torque to weight ratio, increased efficiency producing more torque per watt, increased reliability, reduced noise, longer lifetime by eliminating brush and commutator erosion, elimination of ionizing sparks from the commutator, and an overall reduction of electromagnetic interference (EMI). With no windings on the rotor, they are not subjected to centrifugal forces, and because the windings are supported by the housing, they can be cooled by conduction, requiring no airflow inside the motor for cooling. This in turn means that the motor's internals can be entirely enclosed and protected from dirt or other foreign matter. The construction of a brushless motor resembles a stepper motor, but the motors have important differences due to differences in implementation and operation. While stepper motors are frequently stopped with the rotor in a defined angular position, a brushless motor is usually intended to produce continuous rotation. Both motor types may have a rotor position sensor for internal feedback. Both a stepper motor and a well-designed brushless motor can hold finite torque at zero RPM. Brushless motors can be constructed in several different physical configurations. In the conventional inrunner configuration, the permanent magnets are part of the rotor. Three stator windings surround the rotor. In the external-rotor outrunner configuration, the radial relationship between the coils and magnets is reversed; the stator coils form the center (core) of the motor, while the permanent magnets spin within an overhanging rotor that surrounds the core. Outrunners typically have more poles, set up in triplets to maintain the three groups of windings, and have a higher torque at low RPMs. In the flat axial flux type, used where there are space or shape constraints, stator and rotor plates are mounted face to face. In all brushless motors, the coils are stationary. There are two common electrical winding configurations; the delta configuration connects three windings to each other in a triangle-like circuit, and power is applied at each of the connections. The wye (Y-shaped) configuration, sometimes called a star winding, connects all of the windings to a central point, and power is applied to the remaining end of each winding. A motor with windings in delta configuration gives low torque at low speed but can give higher top speed. Wye configuration gives high torque at low speed, but not as high top speed. The wye winding is normally more efficient. Delta-connected windings can allow high-frequency parasitic electrical currents to circulate entirely within the motor. A Wye-connected winding does not contain a closed loop in which parasitic currents can flow, preventing such losses. Aside from the higher impedance of the wye configuration, from a controller standpoint, the two winding configurations can be treated exactly the same. The maximum power that can be applied to a BLDC motor is exceptionally high, limited almost exclusively by heat, which can weaken the magnets. (Magnets demagnetize at high temperatures, the Curie point, and for neodymium-iron-boron magnets this temperature is lower than for other types.) A BLDC motor's main disadvantage is higher cost, which arises from two issues. First, BLDC motors require complex electronic speed controllers to run. Brushed DC motors can be regulated by a comparatively simple controller, such as a rheostat (variable resistor). However, this reduces efficiency because power is wasted in the rheostat. Second, some practical uses have not been well developed in the commercial sector. For example, in the Radio Control (RC) hobby arena, brushless motors are often hand-wound while brushed motors are usually machine-wound. (Nevertheless, see "Applications", below.) BLDC motors are often more efficient at converting electricity into mechanical power than brushed DC motors. This improvement is largely due to the absence of electrical and friction losses due to brushes. The enhanced efficiency is greatest in the no-load and low-load region of the motor's performance curve. Under high mechanical loads, BLDC motors and high-quality brushed motors are comparable in efficiency. AC induction motors require induction of magnetic field in the rotor by the rotating field of the stator; this results in the magnetic and electric fields being out of phase. The phase difference requires greater current and current losses to achieve power. BLDC motors are microprocessor-controlled to keep the stator current in phase with the permanent magnets of the rotor, requiring less current for the same effect and therefore resulting in greater efficiency. In general, manufacturers use brush-type DC motors when low system cost is a priority but brushless motors to fulfill requirements such as maintenance-free operation, high speeds, and operation in explosive environments where sparking could be hazardous. Heating and ventilation There is a trend in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration industries to use brushless motors instead of various types of AC motors. The most significant reason to switch to a brushless motor is a reduction in power required to operate them versus a typical AC motor. In addition to the brushless motor's higher efficiency, HVAC systems, especially those featuring variable-speed or load modulation, use brushless motors to give the built-in microprocessor continuous control over cooling and airflow. Durability Brushed DC hub motors are generally thought to be more durable and long-lasting than brushed hub motors. Why? There is not much physical contact between the components so they tend to stay in tip-top shape for a longer period of time. Brushless hub motors, on the other hand, feature brushes that constantly come into contact with the motor coil and other components. This leads to a degradation of these components, particularly the brushes themselves. In other words, you will have to get these brushes replaced regularly as a part of your overall maintenance routine. Speed Generally speaking, brushless motors allow for higher maximum speeds than brushed DC motors. This all boils down to energy efficiency. Brushless motors are highly efficient (85-90%) compared to brushed motors (75-80%). This increased efficiency also translates to battery life, which is important if you are comparing electric bike batteries of 36v and 12ah vs 48v 9ah. Cost Brushless motors will tend to cost more than brushed motor designs, which will translate to the cost of the e-bike or conversion kit itself. Brushless DC Electric Motor Torque-Speed Characteristics A BLDC motor has permanent magnets which rotate and a fixed armature, eliminating the problems of connecting current to the moving armature. An electronic controller replaces the brush/commutator assembly of the brushed DC motor, which continually switches the phase to the windings to keep the motor turning. The controller performs similar timed power distribution by using a solid-state circuit rather than the brush/commutator system. The interface circuitry between a digital controller and motor. The waveforms show multiple transitions between high and low voltage levels, approximations to a trapezoid or sinusoid which reduce harmonic losses. The circuit compensates for the induction of the windings, regulates power and monitors temperature. BLDC motors offer several advantages over brushed DC motors, including more torque per weight, more torque per watt (increased efficiency), increased reliability, reduced noise, longer lifetime (no brush and commutator erosion), elimination of ionizing sparks from the commutator, and overall reduction of electromagnetic interference (EMI). Shimano Shifter This is the same Shimano seven speed shifter seen on our electric bikes. It is considered a “top bar” bike shifter. This is the only shifter that we found that will actually allow us to have our ebike throttle and a shifter on the same side of the handlebar. Lucky for us, it's one of the best bike shifters on the market. This Shimano shifter is a seven speed, meaning it has 7 different shifting levels. On the surface, you have one large lever that you push with your thumb to shift up into low gear, and then there's a button that you can push that'll index through all seven gears to the highest gear. This Shimano shifter comes with an extra long cable and housing to fit on our longer frame bikes. It can be customized to fit on any length bike. Do most e-bikes have bike gears? Do they use Shimano shifters? The cheapest electric bikes will only have a single speed gearing system, meaning no shifter at all. In order to cut costs a lot of electric bikes below the $1,500 price point tend to only have 1 gear. In our eyes it's fundamental for a bike to still have multiple gears. Gears help aid in hill climbing and also offers more range and support of pedaling. There are a lot of seven speed, eight speed, and nine speed shifters on the market in both the electric bike and regular bike markets. Seven speed is considered a standard. What role does a shifter play in an electric bike? How does having a shifter help an electric bike? If you have a hub motor electric bike, meaning the motor is located inside the wheel, the pedal ratios aren't super critical, but they certainly will enhance your ride. The shifter mainly just allows you to catch up to the motor and have some sort of feedback during pedal assist. Many ebikes will be single speed which can be tough to catch up with your pedal assist level, leaving you pedaling for pretty much no reason other than to operate the assist. A Shimano shifter lets the rider get a bit of exercise, rotating the legs and get closer to feeling the output of the assisted power. On a hub motor system the ratio is fixed inside the hub and the wheel will spin whether you're pedaling or not. What gear you're in wont make too much of a difference difference because the ratio built into the hub is a single ratio. If you have a mid-drive motor, and you have speeds to shift through, then it works much like a transmission where you have the motor powering the chain ring or the sprocket. So, if you have seven speed with a mid-drive, that's like a transmission in a car and you get multiple ratios versus the one ratio at a hub motor ... show more

  • Wheel broke with less than 90 miles - hoping for service
Color: Blue
This bike is ok for the money. It's heavy and sturdy. I also purchased a competitors' (Lectric) 20" slightly lighter, less expensive bike which has a, sturdier, less cluttered build. This Arloor, by comparison is noisier and has some rattles in the frame near front fork when going over bumps. It also is much larger when folded, and has more exposed cabling than the competitor which has more cables routed inside the frame. Still, I thought it was worth keeping. But, when it had less than 90 street miles (NO offroad, trail, beach, etc), a large 6"x2" chunk of the cast aluminum rear wheel broke off, exposing the innertube. This bike is advertised as "All terrain / snow, beach, mountain", with 300lb capacity (I weigh 160lbs). The instruction manual says that the wheels are not covered under warranty, however considering their advertising claims, I believe the broken wheel to be a defect. I've contacted the seller and am waiting for a reply. ... show more

  • After riding 1800 miles to date....
Color: Blue
To provide my feedback after 1800 miles of joyriding in NYC, I would give this e-bike a solid 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5. I would highly recommend the following: After the assembly of the bike I would recommend in torquing everything before riding. It is a great e-bike to get around with wonderful and relaxing experience. The e-bike goes up to 27-28 mph after unlocking with 5 different speed mode. Over my time of owning the e-bike, I had made some enhancement, and replaced a few wear & tear items. This include new brake caliper/pads/disc-rotor, a tire and tube, new comfortable seat, added mini rear-view mirror, including rearranging the controls on my handle bar, and purchasing another back up battery. Current battery last up 3-4 hours of riding depending on manual pedaling use. I highly recommend this bike for getting around recreationally and locally. 🚴🏆🙌👍🤟 ... show more

  • Good, Affordable alternative to on-brand bikes!
Color: Blue
The good: The build of the bike is really sturdy and I really believe that it will stand the test of time. It has a solid construction and the folding mechanics work perfectly. It’s beautiful. If you want an eye catching bike, this is a good purchase, the blue and white makes this bike stand out anywhere on the road and with a custom LED touch, it gets even better! It’s super stable. The ride is smooth and stable thanks to the fat tires. The bad: When I got it, it needed a tune up fairly bad. My guess is because it travelled across seas from China. So, take it to a shop to get it all tuned up. It’s not on-brand. This is probably it’s biggest flaw. This is a knock-off so be aware of that when you buy it. You won’t get the exact same attention to detail that you might get on a Rad bike. Also, finding service experts is also unlikely. You can get it tuned like any other bike, but you won’t get any specialty attention. The front fender that comes with the bike is cheap and flimsy, but it gets the job done. It’s not as fast as advertised. It claims that this is a 750 watt bike, but it’s not. Or at least I don’t think it is. The max speed I could clock was 16.9 mph with just the throttle. That is plenty of speed for most bike trails and with pedaling you can get it up to 25, but it does take significant effort. I never saw 30mph even with the most effort I could put in. ... show more
