I use this product in a different way than advertised. Basically, in my current living situation I have a bad problem with hearing sounds, especially vibrations, when laying down to sleep. I roll this thing up like a pillow and it blocks virtually 100% of sounds coming through my bed. It's also surprisingly very comfortable to lay your head on in this manner. I work from home and my home office lacks a door. It was an extension built onto our house and is down a hallway. Sounds from my children playing or watching TV come from all throughout the house and echo their way down the hallway into my office while I'm on calls. Buying a solid core door, having it installed, then soundproofing the door and gaps around the door, it was going to be several hundred dollars at least, so I figured I'd give this a shot. The barrier works pretty well. My children talking on the other side of the barrier is muffled to the point where I can tell they're talking but can't understand what they're saying. The TV blaring in our living room is completely cancelled out - I can't hear it at all. I can now make phone calls without concern that clients are going to hear a lot of background noises. This is exactly what I was looking for. Now the disappointing parts. Like several other reviewers, I did not receive hardware or instructions in the box, despite the listing saying these are included. I reached out to Audimute through Amazon and they agreed to send the hardware or refund me $3. They were quick to respond. Another issue I have is this barrier is not long enough to cover a standard sized doorway. There is about 1/2" gap at the bottom of the barrier. I used screws drilled into the doorway to hang this barrier and they are as low in the frame as they can go. I can actually see the other side of my hallway through the grommets in the barrier because the screws are hung so low - but the barrier still isn't long enough to cover a standard size doorway. I'm currently using a towel at the bottom and that works fine, but I'll need to pick up a better long term solution to fill the gap. If the grommets were an inch higher on the barrier, it would touch the ground and I would be able to cover the grommets with door frame which would further block sound. The barrier is easy for me to put up and take down, but I'm also tall. Someone shorter would struggle. The barrier has some weight to it (I believe they say 20 pounds?) but it doesn't feel super heavy to lug around. Sound absorbing material is heavy so you want some weight to it or it won't be effective. ... show more

It worked really well as described. The vinyl inside separated after three months and wadded up at the bottom. However, they replaced it and it arrived the next day. Nice!

This is well made. Quality grommets for easy installation. It doesn't completely eliminate the sound, but it reduces it significantly. This was installed over a wood door between two offices. We are Airbnb hosts and have an “apartment” in our home that we rent out. That space is separated from us only by a hollow interior door. Therefore we can hear them watching TV and they can hear us in the kitchen. We tried blocking the gap in the bottom of the door but that did very little. So I researched soundproofing solutions and found this online. We hung it on our side of the door as low on the frame that we could and unfortunately it left about a 2.5 inch gap. I didn’t measure it when I ordered it bc one of the photos by the seller shows it almost touching the ceiling. That was a mistake not to measure. The noise difference is drastic. It makes a huge difference even with the weird gap. I wish we had this when our son was playing Xbox in there and losing his crap at midnight. We can turn the music on our kitchen up pretty loud and barely hear it in the apartment. And to fill in the gap, I cut an old yoga mat to size and rolled it up and secured it with rubber bands and stuffed it in the gap. It does the trick. Yes, I know I could’ve bought something legit but I was throwing away the mat anyway so there it is. Overall I am super pleased but wish the product was longer and had a way to udjust the hang height to accommodate different size doors. I also think an easier to wipe down option would be nice because I know it will be covered in my black lab’s hair in no time. I think it’s a bit pricey but if it keeps our guests happy then it’s worth it. ... show more
