  • Wow!
Pattern Name: Audio Midi Interface
I decided to upgrade from Scarlett 2i2 to ID4 MKII seeing reviews/hearing samples...but it blew me away at the very first tone I sang. The clarity of the tone, the smoothness of it, the natural response completely enveloped me. I have it paired with Sennheiser MK4 large diaphragm condenser mic and it sounds amazing thru reference headphones or speakers in my small recording studio. The recordings made in the studio were equally crystal clear, natural tone and beautiful. The gain of the interface paired very nicely with the MK4 mic, at about 60%. The clarity of headphone output and powerful level of it is outstanding. However...somehow I found it flat in a live performance in open space paired with Sennheiser dynamic E835 mic. Not sure why...but same setup/mic/speaker/gain was much crisper and pronounced with Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, with or without its pretty Air mode. I use a USB interface to both record live but also as my solo mixer with top notch quality preamps into stage speakers. So while I was looking for a replacement interface for both studio and live setups, I've discovered that Focusrite just sounded better for live performance to me, whereas Audient ID4 MKII sounded amazing for studio and recordings. Perhaps my dynamic mics benefited more from brightness of Scarlett, especially when using its Air mode. So for Audient ID4 MKII: A++ Winner!!!! best I've tried to date for studio use/recordings! Portable size: A+. Preamps quality A++. Gain/Dynamic Range for Condenser Mics: A+ Headphones level/clarity: A+. Latency for DAW monitoring: A. (32MB buffer was maximum without the doubling/latency effect @48kHz for my setup). ... show more

  • Great sounding, portable interface. Best in class
Pattern Name: Audio Midi Interface
It's a great sounding, portable interface. The preamps sound a bit better than the Scarlett gen 4 interfaces. It preserves the transients better (in my opinion). Plus I like the desktop/console design better where it's angled just right and easier to push buttons, turn knobs and read the printed texts. ... show more

  • Cute lil audio interface.🤗
Pattern Name: Audio Midi Interface
Great mini audio interface. I like my audio interfaces to have a nice compact design and this delivered on that for me. Getting rid of my other one due to wanting everything to be either USB-C or thunderbolt 4 and above based connections.

  • My Struggle To Get Good Audio Is Over! Absolute Audio Bliss!
Pattern Name: Audio Midi Interface
For three years I've been painfully struggling to get consistent studio quality audio using three other very-well-known brands of audio interfaces and field recorders. This morning was my first date with my new Audient iD4 MKII and I'm in LOVE! Same room, same mic... my trusty MKH 416, same Mogami XLR cable, same audio editor, TwistedWave, same MacBook Air, same DT770 PRO headphones. The only change was my new iD4 MKII. And my audio files need virtually no post processing! (My mic technique and room acoustics have been evaluated as pro quality by a nationally known audio engineer to voiceover talent.) It all came down to changing to an Audient interface! The only reason I bought the iD4 MKII is because I only need one mic input. I could kick myself for waiting three painful years to make the switch to Audient! Ultra-quiet, studio quality audio with just a touch of warmth for less than $200. After downloading and installing the iD4 drivers, the interface was truly plug and play on on MacBook Air. I'd rate the Audient iD4 MKII audio interface higher in every category if I could! ... show more

  • Fantastic interface but with the same flaws as the ID4. Can't give this a 5 anymore.
Pattern Name: Audio Midi Interface
The Audient ID4 Mark 2 is a fantastic audio interface but it has the exact same flaws of the Audient ID4. Audient, in general, has a ONE KNOB RULES ALL sort of mentality. And it can be very frustrating. The Audient ID4 Mark 2 doesn't really save your audio settings for your headphones if you switch from computer to computer. It's all digital. Each time you turn off your computer or unplug your interface you have to set all the settings all over again. It's not like the MOTU M2 or the Scarlett Solo/2i2 or the SSL2 where the knobs are physical and there are individual knobs for each settting. Just like the Audient EVO4, the ID4 Mark 2 doesn't keep your settings. In fact, there's no real way to really save your headphone settings. You sort of "earball" them and that's a dealbreaker for me. The fact I have to keep rolling the knob until I hit between -12 and -6 is poor functionality. I should have the same settings no matter where I go and no matter what computer I use. And it's unfortunate because aside from that, this is almost a perfect audio interface. Great preamps. Lots of gain range. Low self-noise. Perfect for anything needed in voiceover. Great sounding preamps, one of the best ranked headphone amps according to Julian Krause's reviews. Extremely quiet preamps in terms of self-noise. Overall almost a perfect package but I really, really, really dislike the One Knob setup of Audient interfaces so I can't give it a 5. Give me an ID4 where I can move it to any computer and all my settings are saved. It's for this reason I can't whole heartedly recommend it because I personally prefer physical knobs for everything. PS I'm not Lone Mongel. He's another person. Just noticed he has some of the same interfaces as me but we are different people. ... show more

  • Just what I wanted
Pattern Name: Audio Midi Interface
I was using the Komplete Audio 1 by Native Instruments but the main issue I had was if I wanted to work on music early in the morning and not wake up the neighbors, I would use my DT 770 Pro headphones, the only problem was I couldn't get them to play very loud since I don't think the Komplete Audio device had a good headphone amp (if any at all). The Audient ID4 MKII has MORE than enough power to make my headphones loud. I also like the mute button. I just wish the mute button was on the large volume knob but not a big deal. The ID4 also feels great and feels sturdy and well made. I am definitely not returning this. I just wish I bought it today as it is not $10 cheaper than when I bought it. ... show more
