  • Truly fantastic in-ear headphone
All my music is new again! I have been eying these for a very long time now... I am using the Audeze Euclids with the balanced cable with an iFi Gryphon DAC/Amp which is connected to source using USB. I used them for a week with my previous iFi HipDac2 while waiting for the Gryphon to arrive. They sound just great using the HipDac2 but are another level above using the Gryphon. The Euclids are clear, with decent bass, when I feel like something needs a bass-boost I can use the XBass feature on the iFis. These are my third set of planar IEMs, the others being the RHA-CL2 and Audeze iSine10 (not a standard "in-ear" and not used for comparison here). The Audeze Euclids are not noise cancelling but their in-ear seal blocks quite a lot of noise. Compared to my other in-ear planars (RHA-CL2) the Euclids are smoother with a stronger bass. I'm having a hard time comparing detail because both are great. The biggest improvement using the Euclids compared to the RHA-CL2s is that the Euclids don't have the CL2's weird high-mids/early-treble peak that can sometimes make the RHA-CL2 sound "tinny". The fit of the Euclids is slightly awkward since they are, to me, on the larger side and my right ear can sometimes not sit right whereas the left ear is perfect all the time, so comfort is good but not great. I can still wear them for fairly comfortable listening for hours. The RHA-CL2s are smaller and more comfortable. The build quality is excellent, I do not feel afraid of changing the tips like i do with the RHA-CL2s. If you've read my other Audeze review (the excellent Maxwell gaming headphone, I raved) - I still use those as my meeting/zooming headphones and for gaming. I use the Euclids primarily for music and some gaming. The Euclids are 100% my new favorites and I expect them to provide years of great listening! ... show more
