I got two of these for my kids. I put them together myself and it took me a while but it is doable. I do think the instructions could be more detailed and use some tweaking to make it easier to assemble but overall, its a great piece and my kids love having their little man caves areas underneath.

This is a very attractive loft bed for the price. The shelving and the desk portions are extremely sturdy and well-fitting (you feel as if the shelving and desk can truly be used for the purposes and not just as aesthetic add-ons). I would have given this bed a four-star rating, but there are a few frustrations: 1. The engineering of the bed has apparently changed somewhat, but the direction booklet remains unaltered. Some of the instructions were completely unhelpful because the pieces and their structure and fittings are not the same as the booklet describes. My husband was able to figure out what to do, but there were about 20 minutes of mind-numbing confusion. The manufacturer needs to update the direction booklet. 2. A couple of the necessary holes were not drilled; therefore, we had to drill them ourselves. Not a huge deal-breaker, but annoying for $400. 3. Because of the above-mentioned factors, it took us together about 4 hours to put the bed together. Again, it's a decently built and attractive loft bed for the price. But you may want to pull out some hair along the way when putting it together. ... show more

Kids love the bed with one exception thus 4/5 stars...ladder is very narrow and can be difficult to climb especially if Kids are not skinny....otherwise nice solid build ... Give yourself some time to assemble but directions are good...

DO NOT buy if you’re thinking about the full over full with stair case and storage. It came in 4 different big boxes and it literally took both of us 4 days!!! But those four days wasn’t what we expected! All of the instructions were incorrectly, it was so confusing and we had to tweak it over and over again! I gotta say it was the worst buy since it’s pretty pricey. Additionally, it was so wobbly and squeaks everytime any of my kids move ... show more
