The directions were not the best but the pictures walked me through all of it with some modifications that were minor.     • Misleading Listing! False Advertising! GUN CABINET, NOT SAFE!

This is an "okay" gun cabinet! It's not what it says it is. That's why I only gave it one star! If it was posted as lightweight gun cabinet. I may have rated it a 3.5! It's a very misleading listing! It's definitely not fire rated, nor does it have water protection! It uses extremely thin sheet metal on all but the door! If u have a lil are, you could be inside it in no time. It's more or less to keep guns away from children. And to deter a possible theft. It'll definitely slow a thief down a tad. They should redesign the back, because if you want to wall mount it. It's so flimsy, that when you pull on the safe. The back metal bows out. And can likely be ripped away from the way using barehands. If you own a stack on gun locker/cabinet. Or have looked at one, it's probably a ⅓ of the thickness of that cabinet. I own one, and it's definitely much more robust than this cabinet is. It's a neat setup, and it does work as gun/ammo storage. But you'll likely want to fabricate something. To keep it secure to the wall or floor. I added some lag bolts through the door Fram into my floor. This helps it from moving and pulling the cabinet from the wall. The anchors included are virtually useless, unless it's going into a stud. Most of the money was likely put into the electronic locking system. And the door! The door/Frame alone is probably ⅔ of the weight of the entire unit. They should put some thicker steel in the frame, so it can be mounted more securely. Because the metal is so thin, it can be easily bent using two fingers! However, if u are looking for a cheap effective way to keep kids away from your firearms. This is an affordable option. IMHO, I'd probably buy another StackOn gun cabinet. Before I'd purchase thus again tho. As cool as the locking features are. The materials used, are chincy to say the least! The listing is extremely misleading and lies about multiple things... Fireproof, Waterproof and its a "safe". Those are three lies to say the least! I would probably not recommend buying this. Unless you can get it for around a $100. ... show more

Well it’s a little more secure then a traditional gun cabinet but less secure then a traditional safe. The item arrived with a few pieces bent. The metal on the sides and back are thin so it was easy to bend back. The front door is well made and the locking mechanism works well. The led light is very mediocre. What I do like is the finger touch lock and the touchpad. The directions are terrible. The little shelves are almost unusable if you have longer shotguns or rifles. The floor of the safe is odd and the carpet just sits there with no way to stop it from slipping. I needed a unit with these dimensions so that’s why I bought it. I knew it wasn’t going to be great. It will keep my kids out and would slow down a thief. Very mediocre unit, but the price was right. ... show more

This a review for the 10 - 12 gun cabinet. The cabinet was very well packed with Styrofoam and foam wrap. No damage at all. The steel is fairly heavy gauge steel. Four large locking pins. Came with 2 keys. Programming the lock is easy. Put in 4 AA batteries, press the red button and the keypad beeps. Put in your four digit code and press the # button. Done! This is a good cabinet to keep kids and others away from your guns. It will deter the "smash and grab" thief but not the determined thief. I knocked off a star for: > The instructions, while ok could be better. > The brackets with the foam barrel rests pop out when you move a gun. I'll be using some foam tape to keep them in place. > Not sure what guns were used to determine the 10 - 12 figure but I got 9 by leaning guns in the corners. > If it's advertised as holding a certain number of guns then there should be enough foam barrel rests. > It isn't a "safe" and isn't fire proof. Locking cabinet, yes. Fire proof, not really. Overall, if your looking for an affordable cabinet of good quality this is a good choice. ... show more
