    • Amazing Safe: Some Quirks
I researched and shopped safes for several months. I went into safe retailers and stores like Bass Pro and Tractor Supply to see safes in person. All the safes under $2,000 were lacking one thing or another. Then I found this safe. I have never seen such quality in a safe under $2,000. I am very pleased. I dealt with their customer service to customize by adding the upgraded EMP-proof biometric e-lock and they were awesome. It was built and shipped within the 2 weeks as promised and delivery only took 1 day to make it to my town (there was a delay because the freight company forgot to load it on the scheduled delivery day, but Steelwater customer service had my back and contacted the freight company on my behalf). I could not be more pleased with the company as a whole. The only quirks I found were (1) 2 of the mounting holes did not have the fireboard drilled all the way through, so I had to purchase a special drill bit for that, and (2) the new EMP-proof biometric lock is a little sensitive and slow to respond. It is not instant. It takes about 1.5 seconds after a successful fingerprint scan before it unlocks. Because I paid extra to do that upgrade, that's a little disappointing, but I don't feel that should take away from the 5 stars on the safe itself since that was an aftermarket upgrade and it was not sold here on this item. Overall, I am extremely pleased and will be a Steelwater customer for life. I am already looking at larger models for a purchase down the road. I'll also note this safe far superior to similar models I tried in person from brands like Cannon, Barska, Winchester, Sports Afield, Stack-On, Browning, Cabela's, and several brands I can't remember. Really, the only brand I tried that was of similar quality was Liberty, but to get a Liberty of similar quality and size, you'd be paying twice the price. ... show more

I like it so far. I was tired of small and inefficient wall safes. This one fits the bill. It is sturdy, roomy and heavy. Comes with good instructions. It was delivered by freight. Do not even try to move it on your own--you'll hurt your self. Update 2 year later! The battery died and I thought it would be easy to fix. Had a few laying around, but none worked. Called customer service and spoke with Keith. He walked me through a few possible solutions but nothing worked. He finally told me to get a new battery from the store. This is a good quality safe for the money, very happy with this product. Lots of storage Space, I like the interior lighting and pockets on the door for pistols. Delivery was super easy and fast. Had a friend help me move it into the house and up 6 flights of stairs! JK

Compared to there way more expensive safes this one is worth the money. It’s not perfect but works as intended which is what I need. Great space inside. You can fit the shelves how you need them to be as far as height. Pretty good locking mechanism. It isn't pretty but that's not what safes are made for anyway. ... show more
